I disagree. If that move gets to a Super Bowl championship, than it's all worth it. I don't care if in 2-3 years the team sucks and back to the drought era.

Look at the Eagles, in 3 seasons from now they are going to be a bad football team due to all the big void contracts in 2028 and beyond. They won a Super Bowl so it was worth it.

Not to mention it makes it easier to decide on a reset year.

Cap is fugged? Got bad deals with big dead cap? Cut em. Commit to the down year fully.... come into next season refreshed and able to restock the shelves with better draft capital..... start running the cap up 5-6,7 years out again 🤷‍♂️

I would love getting Jefferson, but it’s not fair to compare him to Elam and Kincaid. Yes, those are two recent firsts, but Jefferson was a late first round pick, it could easily be a home run. You just don’t know, and it’s disingenuous to dismiss two first round picks.

That being said, I’d be ok going and getting Jefferson. He is a no doubt star and someone much better than even Diggs was. Allen woukd thrive with him.

Fair point,  jt Bean had been abysmal in the 1st.

Yes. He has been bad in the first, but he genuinely takes very talented players. When he hits on them like Allen, that’s how we can get a star or super star, which we need.

agree.  And the Rams are a SB pick now only a few years after going all in by way of trades.

I just prefer to trade for one at this point.

I'm not sure who the starting receivers will be for us come playoffs.  Shakir is the only stud and we can argue about who the duds are.

But I hope Joe's basic premise is right.  Our WR room isn't good but maybe the right trio elevates us into the "Not Bad" category.

Game after game I keep waiting for Shakir to catch a short pass (past the LOS!) and do his human pinball to the end zone.   He's either hurt, lost something along the way, or is the sole WR focus on the defense and can't succeed that way.    Where do you find another Puca?

Just give me Palmer, Hardman, Shakir, and Kincaid healthy for the tourney and we are good.   Gabe, 14, and Knox are nice to have.

We'll be on the road in any scenario, so just want to beat the Browns and Jets and I am good.  Regular season is pretty much those two games.

Who cares whether the Pats win the division.?  Better they have a 1st place schedule next season.

Is it though?  Burrow and Mahomes aren't going to be in first place, and Lamar might not be either.  I don't know which AFC Division we get next year where we play everybody, but it's quite possible that 2026 is the ideal year to be playing a first place schedule.

You invent a time machine and draft him in the 5th round #150 overall instead of Justin Shorter, a projected UDFA with horrendous tape and the mere potential on measurables alone to be 85% of what Tyrell Shavers is today on special teams? 🤣🤣🤣 Beane is honestly clueless at the WR position, it's painful.

yeah its fair; we get all of the AFC West and NFC North next year, meaning both Bills and Pats play the Broncos no matter what and the 1st/2nd placers in the AFC divisions are pretty close, so maybe no real advantage there to finishing 2nd this year.

Pats got their real advantage this year with the last place schedule.   Pats/Bills play most of the same stronger teams next year.    Not sure how they do home and away.. I suppose the 2nd place team gets some leg up there.

Behind a paywall, but an interesting read.  His basic take is that the Bills receiver room, while still not great, has evolved into something serviceable.  Davis, Shakir and Shavers have settled in as the prime trio, with Shavers being the Hollins from 2024.  Palmer should be the 4th when healthy, and then the issue is who is the 5th, Cooks or Coleman.  Buscaglia feels Cooks brings better complementary skills than Coleman, so Coleman most likely to sit if Bills go with the usual five receivers.

Room will need overhaul in 2026, but this group might be good enough for the Bills to be a force in playoffs.

Casey, i dont have the athletic, so I’ll take your word in it.  To me, Coleman should be the 6th and nothing more.  Draft status doesn't matter.  I believe Cooks will supplant Shavers.  Not replace, but his role will grow once settled into this team.  I agree with Buscaglia, now that Coleman is on the sideline.  They only have to be so dangerous, as the RBs can catch and are more dangerous in soace.

Kinkaid looks like he is getting better with his body.  Knox and Hawes can keep growing in their roles.  We have if Brady uses his head and gets a little more creative.

One last thought.  BEAT THE CHEATS!
