BB was a great defensive coordinator before he got to the Patriots.  His 1st SB in NE wasn't about Brady but really about great coaching.

I'll grant you that.  I'm simply saying he coached 10 seasons in the NFL without Brady as his quarterback and 8 of those 10 seasons were losing records.

Brady > Belichick by a ton.

This gets repeated a lot.  Take away any HOF QB from their HOF HC and how does that coach fare? Belichick. took a 3-13 Browns team to 11-5 and a playoff appearance with Vinnie Testaverde, Tommy Vardell at RB and Micheal Jackson at WR.  He did it by truning the 28th Defense into the #1 Defense in point allowed.

How many SB rings does Reid have without Mahomes?

What is Burrow crying about ? Both of those picks were on him. They most likely would’ve won the game without his mistakes. Take accountability

100%

There was about 5 minutes to go and the Bengals were up 3 with the ball at the Bills 30 (ish)

Run a couple minutes of clock and score a TD (which seemed inevitable without the pick) and you're up 10 with between 2-3 minutes to play.

Burrow blew it.

I think if Belichick has any NFL offers the most likely team is actually the Bengals.

Since they have no GM there's no issue there. There's big problems and their overrated HC is terrible. Burrow is having a public meltdown.

Now, they are the Bengals, so the most likely outcome is that they try to stick it to Burrow, and Brown tells him "you work for me son" and plays hardball. But there's a chance they get a clue and hire a real HC, and whatever Belichick is or isn't he with a great QB would be very dangerous again.

Don't forget: when the Bengals used to play defense too they were extremely tough. They don't even need to be good or great, even a middle of the road defense would make them a SB contender.

Right now they are laughably bad.

This is fair.. and as we’re seeing, teams that pay their QB (Philly aside) have major holes due to that.

Burrow defenders will justifiably point to how unbelievably well he played before those picks and in the drive after (accurate, he was amazing).

But when you make what he makes, and furthermore advocate for a huge chunk of cap to go to your top two WR’s, you can’t be the one who makes those mistakes.

You shouldn’t expect your defense to bail you out.   You knew the deal when you signed your contract and went above and beyond to advocate for Chase & Higgins.

I don’t blame him if the injuries are getting to him.  And the Bengals, prior to this year, are responsible for not protecting him.

But in terms of this singular game, you know the deal.  You’ve got to outscore people.  You can’t throw a pick six in the 4th Q and expect to beat another elite QB (who’s also covering up for holes on his team).

IMO Zach Taylor is the biggest solvable problem there.

If Belichick is ever going to get another NFL job it's going to take someone like Burrow pushing for it. And he would have to be given free reign.

The reason I connect him to the Bengals is that the Bengals don't really have strong front offices. They don't even have a GM! That's incredible.

So, it's made for Belichick: QB in place, no GM anyway, so he can run the whole show. If Mike Brown realizes this will keep Burrow happy and help the team win he could do it.

Obviously Belichick would take that job in 2 seconds. The Bengals have a coffee fetcher right now who got the job because he was in a  room with Sean McVay for 5 minutes and he has done ok here and there.

But I blast Taylor every chance I get because it is demonstrated every time Burrow goes out that his success is 100% due to Burrow. Without him (and even sometimes with him early in seasons) they cannot win games.

Imagine missing 3 years in a row with Allen in a system where 7 teams make it.

Belichick would have that team pushing for the #1 seed next season. He would have his pick of OCs to work with Burrow, so he would need someone good, that would be the only possible holdup.

Taylor probably needs to go, but Belichick’s time is over. Some people remain at the top of their trade for a lifetime, most don’t. I wouldn’t get anywhere near Belichick as an NFL franchise in 2026. He’s failed miserably his past few seasons, both college and NFL, and has a reputation as a miserable control freak. This isn’t even mentioning a girlfriend who seems to play a role in his professional life. I’d love to see him fail in the NFL again though, it’d be a total joke and clown show imo.

I think Burrow always seemed immature. It’s just increasingly concerning considering he’s close to thirty. We’re incredibly fortunate to have someone with the personality of Josh Allen.
