Riverboat Ritchie Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago Is the issue with Brady offense his route design for plays or that he does not give enough flexibility or design options to WRs to run routes for majority of zone defense that they seem to face. Is Gabe our best WR now for Josh to be able to find holes in zone and sit? Are they just bad at running routes and shaking the defender? Quote
ScotSHO Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago Houston played a lot of press man, I believe. The best routes don't work when receivers can't run away from the defender. Quote
ngbills Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago Hard to say without seeing full tape. But it often looks like the routes are awful. Multiple players in same area, very slow developing, guys never seem to be full speed, Quote
Big Turk Posted 14 minutes ago Posted 14 minutes ago I'd say Brady doesn't have the nuances that other teams have that make these routes successful. Let's be real, most route concepts are widely used. It's the nuances and the little things that are different within them that change on a game to game basis that helps offenses stay ahead of the defenses that see the same things on game film. Brady isn't good enough in this area and he doesn't create enough opportunities in this way for his WRs. Quote
artmalibu Posted 10 minutes ago Posted 10 minutes ago The WRs are not being in a position to be successful. They arnt the greatest but are better than they have looked. Plenty of speed but do you see it? Shavers 4.38 Moore 4.35 Samual 4.31 palmer 4.52 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago Greg Cosell was extremely critical of our concepts. If I recall, "elementary" was used Quote
Riverboat Ritchie Posted 6 minutes ago Author Posted 6 minutes ago I know everyone is in love with the Rams now....and for good reason, but watched them motion Puka and then have him start route going through C gap was brilliant and seemed so well designed. Definitely a bit envious. Quote

BuffaloBillyG Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago I wish this was a joke...but the plays on the Madden Bills team are so much better drawn up than what we run. Quote
SCBills Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago It’s been said we got rid of choice routes, where the WR & QB need to be on the same page in making adjustments to the route based on the look the defense gives. So now we’re running all locked routes, meaning simplified.. you run the route how it’s designed, no matter what. Quote

They have concepts and packages they like and it's up to the player to execute or not. For example, drafting Elam (man corner) and asking him to play mostly zone. Drafting Coleman (big slot/wr2) and asking him to be our primary boundary option. Or, you know, taking the most athletically gifted QB in history and asking him to execute a dink and dunk small ball offense. I have zero confidence our receivers are being put in their best situations to succeed. Quote
