a last place schedule, top 10 draft picks and $100m in cap space can turn things around in a hurry

Absolutely!! They have a lot of cap space again this coming up year to and with how Maye has played it hopefully makes it easier to attract good FA without over paying.. (heck FA took less to avoid NE lol)  like I said they have outperformed what I thought they do all year already..

Hope the Vikings have fired the people they employed to assess QB talent the last few years.

Yeah their fans got to be going nuts over that.    McCarthy on a Rosen trajectory.  Extra shame because they have super talent at WR too.

I think they do a 60/40 snap share between Monty and Gibbs in the latter’s favor.

Keeping him fresh plays a part but I often wonder what he would put up if he got CMC style share; 85-90% per game.

Superfreak indeed!!!!

The last QB they drafted to win more than one playoff game in the same season was Fran Tarkenton.

Wasnt there rumbling about teams enquiring whether McCarthy was available for trade last season?

If so, it looks regrettable for the immediate. Keeping Darnold might have been the smarter option if they could have afforded to.

I honestly can't blame them for letting him walk. His performance in the Lions and Rams games at the end of the year was like the ultimate "This guy is never winning you a SB" sign.
