It will be an internal hire only Study up on the WCO. It's a timing offense and it's kinda what we want Josh to do now and many will tell you that's not letting Josh be Josh. 1 1 1 Quote

He was the best HC Miami had since Shula who got more out of his rosters than most do. Pair him with an innovative OC and pick his DC. He got such a raw deal in Miami its stunning he isn't a HC again already. I would also be open to BB and Josh McDaniels combo - not sure McDaniels leaves NE for anyone but BB at this point, if he would even do that given the upstart Pats and young stud QB. If nothing else, it would be very entertaining to watch Belichick and Vrabel coaching against each other in the AFC East. 1 Quote

In what way had Marcus Brady's stock diminished? Before the spate of significant injuries, the Chargers' offense and Justin Herbert were playing very well. 15 hours ago, GunnerBill said: I liked Waldron as a candidate last time based on his work with Geno in Seattle. But it was an unmitigated disaster in Chicago. With a QB who doesn't play a traditional drop back pocket game. Now obviously Josh >>>>>>>> Caleb. But I think he is off my list for now. Whatever happened to the Bears under Matt Eberflus, I don't think you can blame Waldron. The Bears were 4-5 when he was fired and went 1-7 the rest of the way. In the case of both of these coaches, I think you have to look beyond any perceived blemishes and drill down to find their true value. Quote
BB2004 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Might not be popular, but if Zac Taylor gets fired he would be a good candidate. 1 Quote

I respected his actions in the Damar Hamlin game when he agreed to call the game with his team leading, 7-3. There's no good reason not to like Taylor that I can think of. Quote

For DC, it’s got to be someone from outside the organization. Maybe Stefanski can bring Schwartz along. if you want to play some real 3D chess, fire McDermott and hire Josh McDaniel. It gives Josh Allen a real OC and sets NE back. This idea is horrendous JMD is a terrible terrible no good awful head coach at both stops he’s ever been in. Quote
NeverOutNick Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I hate seeing this thread title. Wish it would get merged. Any part of McBeane not taking the fall, FINALLY for a season we should’ve been the 1 seed I want no part of. But hey they got Brandin Cooks! Quote

On Brady, he was fired after less than two years as the Colts OC. Then the Chargers offense the last two years is hardly a passing juggernaut. As for Waldron.... I mean I think you can blame him for the offense. He really struggled to design a scheme for a QB who didn't want to play entirely from the pocket. And he had weapons. As I said I thought they should have interviewed him when they hired Joe as their permanent guy. But he wouldn't be on my interview list now if we had a vacancy. 1 Quote

In fairness both the 2024 Bears and the 2022 Colts were "sinking ship seasons." Eberflus was a complete failure as a HC as was Frank Reich in Indy. As with Waldron and the Bears, the Indy team that Marcus Brady coached got significantly worse after he left. Reich fired Brady days before he got the axe himself and the 3-5-1 Colts went 1-8 the rest of the way. Track records are a funny thing... many of the hot names that get hired catch lightning in a bottle or were in the right place at the right time. I call it "built by association" (as opposed to guilt by association). If you're in the league long enough your gonna accumulate some blemishes... the shine comes off but that doesn't mean that the shiny, new objects are better. The boldes us exactly how I feel about Joe Brady though. If I am moving on at OC it has to be for a proven upgrade. Waldron and Marcus Brady are not that. I'd take Joe Brady over both. Quote

Joe Brady was the bright, shiny object with no track record... 5 NFL seasons. Marcus Brady 8 NFL seasons, Waldron 16 NFL seasons. I would take guys with more experience than a guy still living off his "built by association" with Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, and Justin Jefferson. JMO. 1 Quote

Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago For OC, might as well see if 'NoHo Hank' from 'Barry' is available. His schemes seem about as well thought out and successful as Brady's. 🤨 Quote
