ryguy101 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Fox news article: https://www.foxnews.com/sports/broncos-dre-greenlaw-suspended-threatening-ref-after-win-over-giants-nfl-says Here's the synopsis: Greenlaw was suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct toward an official in the Giants-Broncos game. Apparently he chased after Brad Allen (the game's head Referee) and threatened him as he was leaving the field. He has 3 days to appeal the suspension but we'll see if he does. I'm not sure if the Broncos have put out a statement (couldn't find one). But totally uncalled for... he is a veteran and should be a leader on the team 1 Quote
dorquemada Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Threatened him? Physically? A suspension should be the least of Greenlaw's problems, he should be hearing from the police. 1 1 1 Quote
boyst Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago lets wait to hear the whole story but glad someone is willing to stand on business to these refs because that's how we will get eyes open on the problem of officiating. everyone wanted better officiating so there were new rules made to assist and all of these opportunities to get the right call and the game has never been called worse. i'm waiting for refs to wear body cameras like the police - so we find out the real problem all along was not the problem - the problem isn't the players it's the refs. 2 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Maybe the ref told him to go jump on the sidelines or something 😂 Quote

Body Cams on police proved the opposite; its the criminals not the cops. The same groups that pushed for body cams are now against them. However, in this case the refs did everything they could to keep the Giants in the game. Sean Payton even got a penalty for yelling at officials in the 4th quarter, that’s how bad it was. I’m not sure what was said, but it was probably justified. I would have gotten my ass chewed out if I sucked at my job too. Edited 1 hour ago by uticaclub 1 Quote

But yes, body cams were called for because of oversight of police only to expose perps behaving bad. Body cams to watch players would prove refs are in the wrong and don't see or report fairly. Quote

I think it’s worth it. It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, ref altercations every single year so that we can have fairly/professionally officiated games. That’s a prudent deal. It is rational. 2 Quote
colin Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago i dunno what happened but this kind of thing can get a player in deep doo doo. i swear the nfl likes the awful reffing as long as it leads to the bigger draw teams doing well/driving revenue. Quote

It's a weird crossroads for me. I guess growing up and sporting I was always under the belief that coaches coached to win, refs reffed fairly, and the game was honest. Somewhere along the way I became jaded. Nothing was more egregious to me than when diabetic don the Eagles security guy started a physical alteration with players on the sideline getting involved with two players. As a result the opposing player was disciplined and removed from the game and Don was, too. Don bad no influence on the game but Don got to create a game changing event. At the same time no one is perfect so how can a ref be perfect? I can excuse some mistakes but games where the Chiefs are not called for a penalty at all? Or the falcons getting nothing for most of the game? Defenders of the shield say the Chiefs are called for penalties but fail to understand they're late in the game or not impactful the game. A false start on a 3rd and 12 in the 3q up 10 pt isn't important and isn't like a supposed illegal shift on a TD play in the first quarter. Quote
T master Posted 43 minutes ago Posted 43 minutes ago Not sure exactly what transpired but some of these refs need to be held more accountable for some of the bad calls that they make, as we all know being Bills fans they can change the outcome of very important games and Roger sure isn't doing much at all about it or holding them more accountable . I've never heard of a ref getting fined a game check for sucking at his job or being fired for it . If most of these refs are only part time still as they use to be they need to be put on the NFL employee list so this is all they do to be the absolute best that can be at their jobs and if nothing else consistent across the league in these calls . So I could see a player getting pissed and voicing his opinion if a guy was choosing a player and busting his balls with ticky tack calls, these guys are very competitive and some more vocal than others so I can see it and see why . 1 1 1 Quote
Haze_21 Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago Whats up with refs suddenly overturning calls they used to let stand? It happened 4-5 times this weekend/last night. The refs real bad last night. 1 Quote
