Special K Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago On the first play of the game, Thompson makes a great play to force a fumble by Bijan, recovered by the Bills, then wiped out by an Offside penalty that had nothing to do with the play. Then late in the 4th quarter, Penix throws an ill-advised pass that hits Thompson in the hands for what looked to be a sure pick six.....and he drops it....ouch!! In no way am I blaming him for the loss, but he sure has to be kicking himself right now.....had a chance to bail out a poor-performing Bills squad and be the hero, but it just didn't happen...... 3 1 Quote

He's been the only LB worth two nickels on this team the entire year. None of Bernard, Milano or certainly Williams would likely not have even gotten a hand on that ball. The first play was not Shaq's fault. He made a good play and nothing to kick himself over. Rousseau on the other hand ....... The dropped INT may well have turned the game around. This he may proceed with kicking himself in the butt for this. 1 1 Quote

Da webster guy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Yeah he's a big play guy. Has a knack for causing turnovers. Good thing we have him because we're hurting at LB. Defense should be proud of their 2nd half performance. Deone Walker wasn't talked about enough by the announcers, who (as much as I like Orlovsky) are a pretty lame team. Big Deone at 6'7 340 movin like a cat out there. He is the lone bright spot from our recent draft failures, a true late round steal that should have been a 1st rounder and may win DROY 5 Quote

I still can't believe they extended Bernard early. His 2023 was very good. But he regressed in 2024 and started showing a penchant for getting dinged up. This year is more of the same. I wouldn't have tied up money for next year in Bernard and Rousseau until I saw what they brought us this year. It's so frustrating seeing the Defense performing as it is and knowing that we locked both of them in to those spots and any sort of high cost upgrade seem unlikely bc of there's and other extensions we made. Ill have to look again in am. Bernard has been playing really well in making reads against the run and filling. Our dline is letting too much Guard action to the 2nd level. Bernard is miles ahead of Shaq - who had a pick 6 bounce off his hands. Shaq is a better LB vs pass than Dorian, but now were comparing 2 guys that shouldn't be starting in the NFL. Lets not act like Shaw is anything special. Woohoo, hes made some big hits. What else? Dorian forced a fumble (which I'll confirmk in am) and a ran Penix into Ed for a sack. Both these guys shouldn't be seri g the field ideally 1 Quote

I'm fine with Rousseau; he's a perfect fit for what McDermott wants out of his Ends and when he's allowed more freedom (ala the last two weeks) he becomes much more impactful. Bernard was valuable in my mind mostly because he is (or was) a turnover magnet. But he's lost a step over the last year and is now often late for plays that he used to be on time for. 1 1 Quote

The guy has a hell of an IQ…..but so did Einstein and he wasn’t suited to play LB in the NFL. 1 Quote

Bernard is a playmaker, when we can get avg play in front of him. DL has been pitiful to start the year. Terrel isn't made to shed blocks from Guatds getting to 2nd level. Too much of that occurring which is on DL. To counter, Bernard has shot the gap numerous times and made plays before the guard has reached him. 1 Quote

A play like the pick in the Ravens game happens and then it's 5 weeks of getting run all over and the second level being wide open in passing and it's like "yeah, but he's a Playmaker". Defense needs to work a cohesive unit. We finally got Ed back. Walker has been a revelation - but who else are Dt? Jones is just one of many not deserving to start. Then we have a rotating door of P/S guys being called up each week. At some point, you have to be honest and say DT is a major issue right now. Maybe Oji helps, but this is a weak group behind wave 1. 1 2 Quote
