Why? Right now we have the second worst pressure rate in the NFL on base defense. Hard not to get better, but really good?

Where are you seeing that pressure data?

FWIW Buffalo also has the lowest air yards completed in the NFL at 194 yards across 46 completions.

Miami had a CAY/comp (Completed air yards per completion - yards the ball traveled in the air past the line of scrimmage prior to a completion) of 1.3 yards.  The average completion that Miami had in this game traveled less than 2 yards. Allen was also incredibly low at 2.4 in this game, so it might have been a scheme choice.

Tua was dead last in this category last year at 4.1 (.1 yards behind Mahomie at 4.2), but 1.3 is really low.  In the past he was always a very low% sack guy, and this game plan seemed to go even beyond his normal quick release to potentially avoid pressure.

Heard Rousseau had a bone bruise on his knee. Hoping Landon Jackson gets a jersey going forward. Him plus hoecht should ease bosas load

I heard Landon is getting close to a jersey.  Solomon got 3 games of meh.  Now it’s Landon’s 3 game try out, keeping the spot warm for Hoecht

I believe McDermott is breaking them in. The concentration was on the D Line. It’s like a horse race. Sprint to the first turn for positioning. Keep near the pace on the backstretch, and make your big move as soon as your horse answers the call. All out to the finish line.

Bills had this three week mini season scripted. The next chunk of the season culminates with the full bye week. Then a preseason game against Carolina, then Chiefs.. ending with the Thursday nighter Nov 20th against the Texans, a team that for whatever reason sorta has our number it feels like. Nice mini bye, and it’s Mack daddy go time with Steelers, Bengals, Pats. Eagles. Two byes because you’re resting starters week 18 and the wild card round. And you’re playing with your hair on fire for the last two games ever at Rich Stadium. Well maybe not McDermott. The hair.

Am on board with this concept.

Never really thought about how McBeanes are bringing along the youth , or the back ups who are in need of more development.

( Geebus that defense must be complicated ! )

But yes , Bosa need to get spelled more often please. seems he has the Bills concept down lol and is in fine fettle physically too.

Next few weeks ? Try to fit the new kids in more. Maybe tweak a few things to help them along on Game Day

FWIW, Strong is terrible in his ST role. His gunner was running free all night long.

wtf?

Thanks for the info. But I don't like it one bit

add

Can we put put that PED'd D tackle on PS  lol.

We have need for DEs on the field game day to spell Bosa And Groot if he has issues. Hoecht ? They will move all around I bet. Can see him playing a move LB

I believe Bosa’s snap count was opponent driven. He’s their best pass rusher and they’re really not getting much from the other DEs. If the Bills can get a good start and multi score lead against the Saints, I’d imagine Bosa’s snap count will be much lower.  We could see quite a few backups in this game.

Correct.

Solomon has a total of 48 snaps this year.

Bosa another 73% snap game. Right on par with what his average over 3 games was, and likely around what we’ll see as long as he stays healthy. Possibly the return or Hoecht brings him down a bit but anyone thinking he’ll take 50% of snaps is likely to be disappointed

Just for comparison, here is the defensive snap counts fotr the Saints game. ABout 10% more total defensive snaps in the Saints game. They reduced Bosa's by about 10%. Doubled Solomon's snaps (9 to 18). Walker has the biggest snap increase in actual numbers (19 to 34), and they played T Johnson a lot more this game.

I still think Bosa's snap count is still high but I understand the game situation and Epenesa has an injury that they kept his snap counts to around 20 the last 2 games. So they have to increase Bosa and Solomon's snaps as they are probably the healthiest DEs (other than Jackson who is definitely not ready for action in coach's eyes). The coaches seem to trust Walker more now.
