Yeah.........................................................................

That's the reason banks and other financial institutions employ an army of property appraisers. They just don't take your word for it.

I had reason to visit my local bank branch last week and the manager I was sitting with brought up Home Equity credit lines as a way to "unlock" the equity in my home. But taking on more debt by borrowing against my house isn't something I'm interesting in doing at the moment. She asked me how much my home is "worth" and I threw out a number. In the fantasy world where banks just take your word for it and you can "induce" them to give you more money she would have took my number, processed and approved an application, and ran with it. But in the real world, with real money changes hands, the bank will send out an appraiser to make the determination for lending purposes. That's how it works. So these stories like plute and montrose peddle that are absent of any actual facts or figures are meaningless other than to demonstrate people can make up pretty much anything they want to make up.

Good lad, you’re getting there.  If the people charged within enforcing the law break it consistently, why would you be surprised that people don’t trust their motives?   Or, that others recognize that opportunities exist within the system to exploit it?

Right, because an army of appraisers magically stops fraud. That worked out so well last financial crisis.

Sure, systems get exploited… and yet somehow Trump keeps getting a pass, right? Color me shocked.

Sadly I think this type of rational explanation falls on deaf ears when dealing with the tin foil hat crowd.  As we see here, the rush to defend their sacred cows guilty of wrongdoing is THE most important thing.

No doubt, high profile individuals and corporations get special privilege and deals (See Spitzer, Elliot, Obama/solyndra, Biden/Ukraine)  Money and power buys access.  Questions that might be asked of you or I aren’t quite as important  in those situations.   That’s not new, not Trump-specific, and crosses party lines.  Still, if the door to prosecution is opened, might as well get on with it across the board.  Letitia James is a powerful woman, she can handle herself.

Color me shocked that you’re shocked that someone pointed out….inconsistencies…..in your selective outrage.

DON'T FORGET ILLEGAL STOCK TRADING !

a particular favorite of Fed board members.

It's funny how the farmers keep trying to side track this topic with silly straw men.  It's like a temu script or something.

It seems everything they blame others of, they either do themselves or passively support.
