But you can make the case the risk he took in free agency on defense already has failed him because of the suspensions.  Add in two of the other guys have repeated injury issues in bosa and foster.

obunjobi to me is a really bad signing.  He doesn’t really have a position and the Steelers dumped him because he was bad against the run.  The Bills signing him and saying he is a tech who can play the run seems like blue skying the situation.  I understand he was a signing as insurance in case they didn’t get what they wanted in the draft.  I understand that viewpoint completely but he just seems like a real head scratcher of a signing.

and bosa, he had more Offside penalties than sacks and played with a good pass rusher on the other side of him who demanded attention.  I don’t like anything about the guy personally but everything about him screams declining player with major injury concerns.

I am hoping for the best but I am fully expecting some real defensive issues this year.  Doesn’t mean we won’t win because I love the offense, everything about it.  I just think the defense is going to have some issues this year that we have not had in recent years.

I suspect Bosa will play out as a moderate disappointment.... for all of the reasons you mentioned... that said... I like the signing... sometimes to win it all you need a little bit of luck on your side... he is our lottery ticket... if he can conjure 1 Pro Bowl season and 10+ sacks especially with dominance in the playoffs... he could be the luck we needed... big gamble though.... like Von redeux... you just hope it turns out better than that played out...

Cheer up! There’s always next year. If things go a certain way, things could be even worse!

Well looks like the best we can hope for is that things get worse at a slower rate

I think we can back up and look at the larger picture and have a lot to talk about. I certainly do not like all of the specific risks taken. I just like that, in general, this offseason Beane seemed willing to take some risks while chasing upside.

Not dramatic at all.  It’s just my humble opinion.  The defensive free agents are all guys with no singular position, old and declining, high injury guys who miss a lot of time and suspended.

it was a really lousy offseason and the draft fixed some of that and created a situation where the free agents will be asked to be role players which is about the max they can be anyway.  Except bosa, he offers upper end talent but he has not displayed it in a long time, he is basically miller of last year if he can stay healthy.

having said that, if Jackson ends up an injured guy with a finicky neck issue, Hairston has some sort of hold up because of legal issues outside football and walker’s back is not right and this is a red shirt year for him….well this will have been a disaster of an offseason and the defense and the team will pay the price for it.

if Hairston is in the clear and Jackson is healthy and misses no time along with walker then this will be an excellent draft rendering my concern a moot point.

the vibes with all of these guys has been iffy at best sans sanders, Hancock and strong imo.

this team will go as far as the defense allows them and since they spent an offseason putting all their resources into the defense we are all hoping it works out as planned.

Yup the two suspended players for me. And one BEANE knew about. lol.

beanes desperate. His drafts on defense have stunk. Zero blue chippers. Ed is extremely boom or bust production/ impact player, rotates a lot. And Benford is a solid starter. No flash. Just steady eddy.

his off season signing stink. Floyd and miller were producing at a high clip up until week 10. And Von got hurt and was never the same.

beane and McDermott have been directly responsible for the falling short of this Josh Allen franchise. Either bungling coaching late game situations, or outcoached game planning , and then the meh player/talent acquisition - favoring culture over talent

Bosa can’t be a disappointment if you don’t expect anything from him.

If they were gonna draft a Hayek, I'd prefer it was Salma Hayek.

First you need sound money to get the salary cap under control.

Well, I can't argue with that... LOL...
