Interesting. Almost like the federal agencies are incredibly useful and important. Ok so no one was at fault. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
stevestojan Posted July 9 Posted July 9 There’s a time and a place. This was neither. Little kids died. If his point is that it was caused - or at least not mitigated - by the actions of the current administration that the families of the victims voted for (which is clearly his “point,”) an op ed piece in a few months would be somewhat more appropriate. But that would also require him to point to specific cuts that happened before the flood that added to the death toll, rather than a cheap shot in a cartoon. But oh boy did he get some clicks. 2 1 2
Homelander Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) The whole “there’s a time and place” line always seems to show up when someone tells an uncomfortable truth too soon for the people who need to hear it most. The cartoon isn’t mocking the victims - it’s criticizing the leadership that failed them. That is the time and place. And if the goal is to prevent future tragedies, the worst thing we can do is stay silent out of deference to the feelings of those in power. Silence protects the status quo - just like the status quo is kids being gunned down in classrooms while nothing changes. Also, calling it a “cheap shot” ignores the fact that this administration and Republicans have a track record of undermining climate policy, emergency preparedness, and local infrastructure investment. If you want receipts, they exist - but I’m not sure you’re actually looking for policy analysis. You’re just mad someone pointed a finger. If a cartoon can spark that much outrage, maybe it hit a little too close to home. Edited July 9 by Homelander 2
Homelander Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Posting Libs of TikTok - a hate account that exists to demonize anyone not white and straight - isn’t just ignorant, it’s complicit. They fuel the harassment that drives LGBTQ+ suicide rates, and you idiots lap it up like its oxygen. Pathetic, dangerous, and ***** vile. 1

I think his point was to sell outrage, which elevates his profile, which he likely believes directly leads to an opportunity to increase his value as a political observer. It’s usually about the benjamins.

To each their own.
BillsFanNC Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) Roundy: There are no gang members over taking apartments in Aurora. (Despite reports from apartment residents to the contrary) There's no evidence of Haitians eating pets and wildlife in Ohio. (Despite police reports from residents saying otherwise and the demonstrable fact that Haitians in Haiti have indeed been known to consume felines) Lesson: Roundy swallows the loads from reliable media up to, including and after he predictably takes yet another massive L. Homelander Posted July 10 Posted July 10 When you start your argument with "there’s no evidence" and immediately follow it with rumors and xenophobic garbage, you’ve already lost. You’re not interested in facts - we already know that - you're just pushing stereotypes and conspiracies that fit your narrative. But keep grasping. The louder the desperation, the clearer it is who’s actually taking the L. Psychopath.

You keep operating under this premise as if they would be cut and nothing else would be done to replace/build upon it. You’re debating in bad faith and half truths, which is pretty much the entire leftist playbook at this point. Throw in bitter anger and zero ability to feel empathy towards those who disagree with you, and Trump psychosis has turned you.. and so many.. into absolute soulless cadavers barely resembling the human being that used to live inside.
