If the rookies show promise, he'd be cut in final cutdowns when some 30+ players per team are released.

And the more years you have in the NFL the more your minimum salary is.  His is right around where a 6th year player is.

I know how the minimum salary works and he is technically above it... Even if slightly...And I would take him above plenty of other dime corners

The difference is most players getting cut are not NFL quality players.. cam Lewis is an NFL quality slot corner, back up safety and special team player

he's actually talented and tough enough to play in the NFL... And he has tape that's better than a lot of dime corners

The only thing left is to wait and see.

As much as I really like Cameron Lewis.. I've been around him since his time at UB and he's a warrior

If we have players who are clearly better I wish him the best but I want the best players

I think he does have a fight for the roster this year but I do think he does have future options elsewhere in the league

I like Lewis and that he is from UB.  If the Bills let him walk, I hope he makes it back to the PS.  Failing that, I hope he gets an opportunity elsewhere.

He does have some underrated cornerback skills

He played on an island at UB.. literally a one-on-one Island like revis a bunch

Undersized and undermanned out wide... 5' 10 with cleats... And he battled against 6 ft Plus division 1 wide receivers for years getting the best of 90 plus percent of them

While dealing with a terrible infection which could have made him lose part of his arm.. played with a club at UB ... Was a team leader on and off the field

I've had his back since day one here because spend many days around the UB program and nothing would make me happier than to see him succeed even more

Then you'll be happy to know that he's made $5,824,929 in his NFL career.

Competition in preseason doesn't make Rapp/Bishop/Hamlin better on game day.  It just weeds out the low end for cuts.

I disagree.  Real competition for either a roster spot or a starting spot can make you work harder than you would if guaranteed a spot.  Especially when there's such a short life in the NFL and you want to maximize your earnings.  Hamlin's pry reached his ceiling.  However, Rapp, Forrest, and Bishop absolutely could improve gunning for that starting role.  We could definitely argue to the degree in which competition actually contributes to them developing into a better player but I don't see any negatives.

4.58 40?

Puff puff pass 😉

40 inch vertical and 9.59 RAS.  Wande is Safety, not a corner.  4.58 speed is decent at Safety, and Wande makes up for it with elite athleticism

The average 40-yard dash time for safeties in the NFL is around 4.53 to 4.55 seconds. Free safeties tend to be slightly faster than strong safeties

Hamlin and Rapp have each been through 4 and 6  preseason competitions, respectively... and they are what they are despite this.  So it wouldn't follow that another preseason competition will make them better (you stated as much with Hamlin).  Bishop may benefit I guess.

Despite what he believes, the starting spots aren't set as no one has been promised anything.  And that's smart because, as you said, if you've been told that they are set, you might not work as hard because you know you're not going to win it.

Now obviously they'd like to see Bishop start because he was a 2nd rounder and the best athlete of the bunch and Rapp was a starter last year and still has room to improve, but Forrest could push for a spot and so too could Hancock.  Or as the topic suggests, Owens.
