Man,

After reading this thread (and board as a whole, these days) I think some of you might need to take a break from football.

We are talking about a team that just won 40-9, is 5-2, has won their division several years in a row, set a franchise scoring record last season, and has the best point differential in the league by a wide margin over the last 5 years. On this board, however, all I see whenever I log in is the GM sucks, the coach sucks, the WRs suck, the defense sucks, the OC sucks...

The RB is pretty good and the QB is a god but he is sad because he got married and his team sucks.

Take a step back for a second...it's all insane.

Content doesn't win championship. We demand greatness

The championship won't be enough. It will never be enough.

Bro, Bills win 1 Super Bowl and I may never watch football again. The mountain will be topped. Build McD a statue for all I care. Go 4-13 the next 3 years for all I care. I can finally go back and watch 4 Falls of Buffalo, watch highlights from the 13 seconds game... A SB win puts closure on 40 years of fandom for me.

You say that now, but you're wrong.

The following year you'll be right back to complaining.

Nah

It happens everywhere, all the time.

Dallas fans are miserable, so are Yankees fans, Lakers fans, etc.

The fact that you are putting that much weight on it means the crash after the high will be even worse.

Nah, I've lived it recently down here in Atlanta with UGA Football. The first Natty was such a pressure relief valve, it made the next season so easy. No one was on edge to go back to back, even though it was nice and welcomed. By the time anyone was talking about trheepeat, no one really cared anymore, or were just too exhausted to care. And even now a few years later, with the ups and downs, theyre still coasting on fumes of contentment from those championships.

Your comparison is way off. Dallas, Yankees, and Lakers fans got too used to winning championships over and over. They are miserable because championships are expected.

For fans of teams who have been trying for decades to just win one, one victory is all it takes.

But thanks for trying to personally analyze me when we've never even posted together, let alone met in real life. Maybe just speak for yourself from now on.

I'm Red Sox fan. 2004 completed me.

The rest after we're gravy, no real stress.

I’m going to get so good at golf if the Bills win the Super Bowl.

Im not going to derail the topic by veering off into a Beane discussion. I believe the totality of how he has put together this team, from drafting to free agency leaves a lot to be desired.

My point in these posts is that Keon hasn’t been terrible. He may not reach his fullest potential because of the role he is filling. For example the Steve Smith quote is getting passed around about not getting off jams - then don’t have him on the line so much having to beat press if he isn’t ready for it? But he kinda has to because we don’t have anyone else.

I won’t disagree there is some issues. He’s missed some prospects including, like the post you quoted said, 3 drafts in their entirety. That is no doubt held against him.

issues draftin? Every GM has them. Be it early, mid or late rounders. Positions or need or continuous depth. Sometimes teams draft busts or underperforming players.

With Beane there have been 64 players selected within the draft, 37 of those players have contributed to the Bills going 82-40; 81-36 with Josh as the starter. That has to account for something. Revert back to Josh and he secured us an all time talent at the most important position.

Now, the offense should be addressed more for absolute blue chip talent than they swung for defense. Something I will never disagree upon but again, the free agent signings are more of a concern to me than the drafting when looking at the broader perspective of his roles as GM. That’s where you pay the money.

You’re not wrong and I’m not alluding to such. I just feel a lot of people look at the totality through a very narrow scope.
