The point is they went to Superbowl lost and then rebuilt there D 2yrs later it doesn't take forever to rebuild a defense in the NFL. McD defense has been getting torched in the playoffs losses for yrs now.

I posted this in another thread, but they got off the field holding KC to a FG at the end of the AFCCG. And the D was garbage in the first half giving up 8 or 9 yards in the first half especially.   We all would have signed up for down 3 with 3 minutes to go and the ball.

Going hard on defense was what they needed to do.

 

They would have at least one Super Bowl already if they had a defense that could make critical stops.

 

I can’t wait to see this defense go to work because sitting on the edge of my seat hoping that the other team doesn’t convert on 3rd and 17 gets old.

When we say "Defense" we should be talking about the players and the scheme.  But McD gets a free pass and everyone thinks its just the players.

 

McD gets outcoached every year in the playoffs by Reid and I don't think getting new players will change anything this season.

 

Thats why many of us wanted to upgrade the #1 WR.

Because if we're stuck with McD, then lets see if we can outscore them at least.

I'm glad I wrote what I did the way I did. I figured some might catch on to what I was getting at and that I would be able to avoid the whole agreement that started on the radio.

By my count that's only 8 stops by the Bills DEF and not 9 showing in the screenshot. Maybe they are counting the missed FG in game 2 as a defensive stop, or the muffed punt that we recovered in the 1st game. Those are both ST plays so I don't think they should count as DEF stops. I'm not counting any 'end of half' possession as a stop since those were all kneel-downs. 

 

In the SB on the Chiefs first 9 drives they had 6 punts, 2 INTs, and a failed 4th down. 

So it is true, and it really is an insane stat.

Yes we have been historically riddled with injuries by January in his entire coaching career in Buffalo 

 

He literally takes undrafted free agents and turns them into solid players who get second contract from other teams 

 

The Buffalo Bills have not given him enough to work with...

 

There's not one defensive coach in the NFL who takes 4th 5th 6th 7th round picks Plus on drafted guys and develops them better 

 

Beane has to give him better talent in the top two rounds so he can maximize it.. we take guys like boogie bash'em who we give away for peanuts

 

Sean McDermott statistically in his first 17 years as a defensive coordinator / head coach.. is in territory with elite names with his top 10 statistical categories

 

You need as much luck as you need skill to win a super bowl.. as evidence by Norwood's wide right and bass going wide right at home versus the Chiefs with 2 minutes left
