Freedom of speech does not mean "freedom from consequences". It is well within the sovereign rights of a country or a business owner to act upon what is being said. the right to free speech is only between an individual and the government. This right has been violated in this and other similar cases. Businesses and other individuals don't apply here. They can apply whatever "consequences" they choose.

But a free society has to tolerate that because the risks and consequences of limiting speech may be worse. But here's what I don't get: some of the people who support your viewpoint are the same people who say that Harvard should not tolerate exactly the same kind of speech made on its own campus. So how valuable exactly is this notion of free speech? 1

So how valuable exactly is this notion of free speech? The difference is this argument over “misinformation” vs hate speech. Harvard is a private institution you are paying to go to. You should be protected from abuse. The federal government funds it - it can choose not to fund it. It didn’t say Harvard needs to close. The government has the right to protect its citizens from abuse. Misinformation is not the same thing. The government has zero business deciding what should or should not be “misinformation.”

Big Blitz Posted July 22 Author Posted July 22 As Merz Falters, AfD Rises as Real Government Contender The right-wing populist AfD is gaining ground in polls while establishment attempts to isolate the party intensify. According to the latest YouGov poll commissioned by the news agency dpa, Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) now holds 25% of voter support, just two points behind the CDU/CSU, which has fallen to 27 %. In just one month, the conservative party has narrowed the gap with Friedrich Merz’s bloc by three percentage points. It is the AfD’s best result ever in a national poll. Merz’s popularity—or lack thereof—is doing little to halt this trend. After taking office in May, he promised that “citizens would feel improvements before summer.” However, only 22 % of Germans perceive any progress under his leadership. 32 % believe the country’s situation has worsened, and 37 % see no change at all. Even among his own voters, the results are modest: only 44 % of CDU and CSU supporters think Merz is leading one of the best governments in recent decades. 41 % openly disagree. The CDU leader has paid the price for selling illusions too quickly. Concern within the CDU ranks is growing—not so much because of AfD’s current figures, but because of its future prospects. 26 % of respondents believe AfD could overtake the CDU in the next election, and another 26 % foresee a technical tie. Only 31 % believe the CDU will remain the country’s leading party. https://europeanconservative.com/articles/news/as-merz-falters-afd-rises-as-real-government-contender/
