Niagara Bill Posted Thursday at 10:55 AM Posted Thursday at 10:55 AM Trade negotiations between Canada and US. Deadline August 1 JULY 30, trump says Canada who wants to recognize Palestinian state( effort to push Israel into cease fire that Trump is unable to do) in Sept if Palestine has elections without Hamas can not get a deal because of this...so let's see. England said same thing, France said the same thing. And let's see, the rules change again on lumber..and copper, Trump needs distraction from Epstein, needs to fight to add to distractions by the phoney deals with Japan and EU. There will not be a deal..Canada will not bow like the EU. Canada will not allow trump to say things like 600billion investment by the EU in the US...a total fictitious claim. Trumps 51st state direction continues...he never planned to have a real trade deal 1 1

Trump just wants 15% for the federal government coffers, so why the phoney negotiations.

Let’s see how it plays out. So far the people predicting economic doom and gloom have been wrong every step of the way. Maybe they’ll get one right before long. do you think Democrats should even bother spending money on campaigning for 2026? Seems like a waste if the elections are going to be canceled don’t you think?

There is no investment, that is private money and cannot be guaranteed, all smoke and mirrors for US prices to rise for citizens. If this is a victory...then call it what you want. Japan agreed to buy more US bonds...they already own more than anyone in the world. So, now lets push the 51st idea, screw around with Putin...all bs, I bombed Iran...yeh, that helped, and prepare to postpone 26 elections... Just gotta get past this nasty Epstein thing.."that bastard stole women from me at Mar a Largo"... I truly hope that Canada does not accept that type of deal..Canada just needs to move on from the US dominance, it needs to find new energy customers and stop selling to US, we need to continue the progress of selling to the rest of the world, and MOST IMPORTANT, stop buying from the US. Canada was your largest customer...that must end...so, no matter what kind of deal works out between the countries, it will not be a real deal, the trust is over, trumps signature is worthless which unfortunately means the US words means nothing anymore. So if you judge trade deals as victories or losses, good for you. Autocracy is a wonderful thing, eh!

Resetting parameters can only be done with capitulation like EU, or with smoke and mirrors. I hope Canada does not capitulate, and resets trade parameters different than the US. Breaking up with an old friend is not easy, but the friend, partner neighbour has changed. Am I upset, no, just sad to see the reality of America's greed, that will lead to 1929 in 2029.

Yes and they were all stupid. 12 hours ago, Taro T said: Would prefer the monies raised from the tariffs go towards deficit reduction and if they were to ever get to a point where the budget is balanced (which we'll never get to and never actually did, not even when 42 had a "surplus" (that was due to SS receipts exceeding expenses, but those were already supposed to be allocated to be used exclusively for future SS expenses)) then reduce / eliminate personal income taxes. Realistically, they'll be used to primarily increase spending and modestly reduce the deficit. Raising taxes on Americans does have a tendency to reduce the deficit, yes 1

What if we exchanged it for some timber or copper? This would mutually benefit our economies by driving prices down and encouraging development in specific sectors. Just a thought. 1

So Canada, ex life long friend, fought together, helped each other, sold energy at reduced rates, helped each other in conflicts, served the world together, 35% tariffs. Brazil, brics member, friend of Putin 10%. Screw trump and his pedophile friends. Edited yesterday at 12:13 AM by Niagara Bill

There is a reason Texas like heavy oil...you will see. Most US Gulf coast refineries are configured to refine heavy crude. It was a big mistake to cancel the completion of Keystone. It would have benefited both Canada and the US. But that was the democrats appeasing the environmental base rather than prioritizing the economy. So the Alberta based oil business reacted and lobbied for the now completed Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion to the coast near Vancouver. Much of that crude gets shipped down the coast to US refineries. China might be a market for Canadian crude but for now China is happy to receive discounted sanctioned Russian crude shipments and supply from the Saudis. At the moment the Permian is the only US Shale basin that has the ability to increase production. Others have experienced steep and rapid declines in production. As expected by geologists. In short order US production will rapidly decline. No big discoveries with the exception of the Arctic are likely. Offshore drilling is expensive. Drill baby drill is a fantasy. Shipping our NG production to Europe is stupid. The war situation is in part to inhibit the integration of Western Europe and Russia by eliminating a cheap sources of energy and expanded trade. An arrangement thst would cripple US influence over Europe. The smart thing for both the US and Canada would be to agree on a clear mutual beneficial relationship. That doesn't appear to be on the table. Personally, I hold two big Canadian oil companies in my investments. Canadian Natural Resources and Suncor. Both are solid long term well run energy plays with large reserves.
