(or maybe the season befor). that sucks for him. but i think atlanta will be happy, if that doesnt sound to cold, cus they dont want to keep paying him that outragous amount of cash. even cutting him would leave a big cap hit. Currently found under "Fantasy News": Wed Jun 1 2005 - Peerless Price may be forced to retire early because of an inoperable retinal condition. We reported the problem late last season, when the Falcons believed the disorder was treatable. According to ESPN.com, the issue threatens to get worse. Even if Price returns healthy, he is not guaranteed a starting job with Michael Jenkins emerging. Stay away in all leagues. A little digging turned up this story from last September -- OnlineAthens.com requires registration, so I'll just copy the pertinent part here: If you've noticed a new shield on Peerless Price's helmet, there's a good reason. The NFL granted Price permission to wear the transparent safeguard above his facemask after an ophthalmologist diagnosed a retinal disorder in his right eye two months ago. "I went for a routine checkup to redo my contacts, and the guy advised me, 'You need to go see a retina specialist like today or tomorrow,' " Price said Wednesday. "I went, and he was talking about I was going to need some type of laser surgery. He explained it like taking an eraser and erasing away the bottom part of your retina a little bit." Wearing the shield allows Price, a star receiver preparing for his sixth NFL season and second with the Atlanta Falcons, to avoid surgery until the end of the year. "He said it wasn't as bad as they had expected and that it was OK," Price said, "but that I need to wear a shield so I wouldn't get hit in the eye or poked in the eye ... and go blind." Players who left the bills before the TD-era have also not panned out....Starting with Nate Odomes..to Henry Burris to Thomas Smith..to RJ.
