Use to be a long long time ago people wanted to come here for the American dream of making a better life for them selves & their families those folks would immigrate from other countries learn how to speak english, learn about American history to assimilate into the American culture & way of life & work their asses off to do better for them selves and their families .

The immigrants that come now are great people. They are not all high on meth and fentenyl and lazy, they are good people for the most part and we need more people to work and reach the American dream.

Not uncontrolled or unchecked. We had nearly 3,000,000 border crossings this fiscal year.  At that rate in 10 years we’d have almost the population of California, our most populous state, enter.  If you don’t think that’s a challenge you’re cra……oh wait.  I forgot who I was talking too.

Carry on crazy boy.

Hard to move on from removing debt from individuals and adding to our growing national debt.  There is no moving on.

There’s always moving on, Chef.

I completely understand and do not disagree with your entire premise, as offered here and explained in your subsequent posts on this topic.

The thing is, the government giveth, and the government taketh away.  This scheme is ill-conceived, ill-advised, and is simply phase one of the next stage of loan forgiveness.

I considered it my obligation to assist our children in planning and funding their higher education, with the necessary shepherding away from high cost schools, debt management and living up to their part of the bargain.  In fact, I considered it a privilege.

So, I read the comments and listen to politicians speak about tax rates and consider where they will go in the future.  I consider the impact of taxation on my earnings and my plans for retirement and the next phase of my life.  I believe contributing to the greater good is important, necessary and part of my duty as a citizen.  I consider that a privilege as well, though i recognize the system is broken af.

You play within the rules, you pay attention to the rules, and when things change, you adapt accordingly.  The decent, hard-working citizen who has met their obligation and chooses to pass on this….opportunity, ugly though it may be, will likely be the same person getting squeezed by excessive and onerous taxation in the future.  In fact, it’s almost a certainty given the historical tax rates in the nation.

Now, if the battle can be won legislatively or in the courts, and this boondoggle stymied, I’m more than ok with that as well.

No, I didn’t.  One uses italics to differentiate one word from others in text.  That was my intent.

You raised the issue of fentanyl, meth and relative laziness in response to a post that had no reference to those subjects.  Why, I cannot say, as it was your post, outlining your thoughts on issues you brought to the table.

I think it’s because you hold some sort of bias on a subconscious level, but that’s just a guess.

I agree some are great people but mixed in with them are the criminals, drug pushers and those that are just looking for a free ride we don't need them ! Let them come legally not just to be brought in to get votes for either party & that's pretty much what it's about .

Answer me this why can't it be like it use to be those coming here in search of the American dream & weren't afraid to assimilate into the country not just show up & collect from those that pay into the system then those born and raised here have to adjust to every way they know & print everything in 3 or 4 languages to make it easier on them ?

Use to be if your coming here to a english speaking country you need to at least know enough english to be able to function with in this culture & you need to know enough American history to appreciate what America is & how it got to be what it is as a country and abide by the laws of this country not try to change them to the things from the country of which you came from then after you have proven that you are worthy of being a American citizen get sworn in as such .

Sure you can honor your traditions but the if you decide to be a American you need to honor the American laws & all that comes with being a American not just come collect & try to change this country to their version of what it should be.

None of this just walk across the border no formal learning of the language & everything as far as housing, Transportation, Food, Clothing, health care & the rest given to them for what every one with no common sense thinks is free which weather you know it or not all of us are paying for !!

But hey as long as they vote for the one that gives them all of this stuff & allows them to come in scot free it's all good .

They will just keep printing more & more money to cover the cost driving up inflation our taxes & everything else creating more burdens on the system while those that were born here & those that have served in the armed forces that are homeless & go with out the health care that they deserve for their service go with out sounds like a great plan to me .

Just open the gates let them all in screw it !!

Oh your right a lot of them are not meth heads & fentanyl freaks but a lot of them are bringing that crap here as mules from the cartels & a lot of them that come across are criminals or could be terrorists but because they don't take the time to vet them they come here only create more crime in our streets or kill people then once caught we incarcerate them & the American people are paying for them on top of giving them the free bees they got coming here illegally .

But hey it's all good sound political plan for re election to me !! If they truly want the American dream like a lot of those that came here years ago they will be willing to do it the right way and make the sacrifices they need to to become a American citizen LEGALLY !!!

My quotes can stand on their own without dishonest people changing the meaning to twist the meaning

There are those people in any group or demographic, the immigrants just seem to have less of it than say the fly over section of the nation which appears to be drowning in drugs, crime and deadbeatism. No wonder Hershel appeals to that crowd so much, people elect people they can identify with

But once again you didn't answer the main part of the question & you never will give a common sense related answer to the problem bait and switch !

Why can't they come here LEGALLY & assimilate learn the language study Americanism become a American citizen through sacrifice & put American value first not their country of origin .

Not a Mexican American, not a African American, not a Polish American but a American of African dissent, a AMERICAN of Mexican dissent, or a AMERICAN of polish dissent other words America FIRST not last !!

Agreed, let's let more legal immigrants in. But the GOP would freak out and they hate the country, so what do they care if there are not enough workers? What do they care about the USA? Nothing, just keep the checks coming....along with the prescription drugs!

But LEGALLY that;s the one thing you won't commit to by saying it !! And yes someone has to instead of getting re election money fro the super groups which you know some are big Pharma shut them down no more opioids no more of these drugs that cure one "Symptom" but creates 4 others .

Stop creating & allowing through the corruption that is the FDA & the EPA drugs & things such as round up and food preservatives that are known to cause cancer & other disease to be put out in order to keep the loop going of keeping us all sick to make more money .

Don't treat or stop the cause just treat the symptom while creating more things that actually cause the problem then say "WHAT PROBLEM WE DON"T HAVE A PROBLEM" ??

I’m not sure what you are fussing about. I agree completely that you said what you meant, and meant what you said.

What I’m hurting about today is why you’re lashing out at me for quoting you verbatim.  If you meant something other than what you said, simply clarify or move on.   That you have dug into the ‘I didn’t mean to say that out loud’ mindset speaks volumes imo.

If dishonesty has established a home here on a beautiful Sunday morning, it resides in Camp Tiberius.

Those people that couldn't do college really hate this

If someone isn’t able to research how much the average yearly income for a field of study, calculate how much their entire program will cost and how much they will need to pay their monthly loans in the first place before they start, are those folks really college material?

Anybody can “do” college but their are trade fields that pay much better that the person was smart enough to recognize.
