WASHINGTON — In conversations with American executives this spring, top officials in the Biden administration revealed an aggressive plan to counter the Chinese military’s rapid technological advances.

China was using supercomputing and artificial intelligence to develop stealth and hypersonic weapons systems, and to try to crack the U.S. government’s most encrypted messaging, according to intelligence reports. For months, administration officials debated what they could do to hobble the country’s progress.

They saw a path: The Biden administration would use U.S. influence over global technology and supply chains to try to choke off China’s access to advanced chips and chip production tools needed to power those abilities. The goal was to keep Chinese entities that contributed to potential threats far behind their competitors in the United States and in allied nations.

The effort, no less than what the Americans carried out against Soviet industries during the Cold War, gained momentum this year as the United States tested powerful economic tools against Russia as punishment for its invasion of Ukraine, and as China broke barriers in technological development. The Russian offensive and Beijing’s military actions also made the possibility of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan seem more real to U.S. officials.

THAT should help the supply chain issues!

What did Trump do to help with the chips? How did the plants he said were coming to invest billions turn out?

Oh - they never panned out?

Meanwhile:

And right in our own backyard:

How can President Biden "ban" other countries from doing anything?

Things might be getting bad at home, but the Global American Empire (GAE) is as strong as ever, as our “friends” in Western Europe continue to be reminded of.

The Bolsheviks in the former USSR didn’t care about how the kulaks fared so long as they could leverage their foreign influence to continue to enrich themselves. This is instructive.

There's an article on Reuters on what a stupid move this is, how it's going to make China invest in their own chip manufacturing and it's going to cripple a bunch of American chip developers due  to loss of revenue.

You can look it up if you want, it's on their site.

China doesn't need anything from us except gobs of money spent on amazon bought items

and US farmland. They have already stolen what they need technology wise.

This is a joke article designed to breast feed dumb democrat disciples.

1.  Where did Biden get the "authority" to tell foreign countries they couldn't sell their tech to them?  I know the answer - did your Twitter account there with 100 followers know?

2.  Are there any exceptions the Commerce department is allowing?  I know the answer to this to.  Friends of the CCP/DNC will get special license exemptions to continue trade.

This is completely wrong.   Advanced Semi Equipment is NOT something they have.  ASML has 100% market share.  This is a declaration of war.  More likely, we've been at war and our Gov't just won't come clean about it.

This makes zero sense.  It's crazy.  It tells me we are already actually at war with China/Russia, no other explanation is possibly plausible

Our Liberal Leftist media went BANANAS when Trump slapped a 15% tariff on China, but not a word on this?  Semis are life, and ASML has 100% market share of Advanced Semi Cap Equipment.  Utterly insane to do this.

There is no doubt now...COVID was definitely a Global Psy Op...and the Left's response to Donald Trump may be the end of Western Civilization (at least, as we know it).

I don't get, we have a President declaring we would physically DEFEND Taiwan on a Nationally Televised interview, and then this happens, which is going to force China to invade Taiwan?

What are they trying to do here?
