Bills vs Pats: “pound for pound” teams analysis

Here we are ! After this last Pats win, i want to compare the Bills and the Pats in every aspect and see what you think about.

- HC: pats

- QB: Bills

- RB: pats (with Brida maybe even)

- OL: pats

- DL: bills

- WR corps: Bills

- CORNERS & SAFETIES: Bills

- KICKER: Bills

- SP TEAM: even ?

Maybe i forgot to consider some other aspect, if so feel free to add or correct me. That’s the way i see things in this next matchup. To me, the most important thing McDermott and Daboll have to do, is to find a way to give Josh more time to throw and involve Knox much more, because to me Knox is not at Gronk or Kelce level, but to me is a very good TE.

I think Dline and Secondary are pretty even and down Tre I might even edge towards New England in the secondary.

I think the most important thing is to avoid mistakes as much as possible. If the mistakes are close  to even we are the better team and should win.

Good thoughts, but I think I would rate the Pats DL over ours.

Also, TE is a push.

The question in all these is to what degree is any unit better than the other? For example their DL being slightly better than ours does not outweigh the vast advantage we have at QB and WR. Or, WRs against DBs? OL against DL? etc.

CB/Safety is even maybe Pats with your top CB out.

Kicker — again I’d go even Folk been amazing..

RB — Pats even w Brieda.

but the question I have is both D weakness is the run. The Pats will stick with it, will the Bills?  Today was an example how bad the Pats run D can be.

Right now, I would lean with Pats dline. They have been solid.

I think this brings up a valid point overall.

The Pats are overall a solid, well coached team.  They epitomize the ‘never too high, never too low, don’t ride the rollercoaster” philosophy

The Bills (including Allen) speak that philosophy, but their play on the field week to week is Screaming Eagle (in the roller coaster sense).  On average, I would say they’re a better team than the Pats but that average speaks to the cartoon where the shot pattern is to the right and the left of the duck, and the caption reads “on average, the duck is dead”.

Allen can be all-world brilliant.  He can also make boneheaded throws that put the ball into avoidable Harm’s Way at times when he would arguably be better served to take a check down, now it’s a shorter third down (vs. a pick and a COP)

Of course, Mac Jones from what I’ve seen has not been made to pay as much as he could for his mistakes and his risky throws so

What i saw this season till now about Allen, is that he seems always not comfortable like he was last year. I mean, he doesn’t give me the feeling that he’s always in control. He had lot of picks, poor throws, like if he was hesitant on what to do.
Maybe because our weak OL, maybe because with Diggs, Sander and Bease all together on the field, he is not sure who to hit. I don’t really know… maybe i’m totally wrong, but this is what i see. That said, i still believe Josh is a top 5 QB without question.

To me Bease is a beast, one of the best slot receiver in the nfl, Wes Welker level and we have Knox that is a heck of TE… so use them more in short routes !

No but he has hit 10 more FG than your kicker.. thus why I said even.

I mean isn't that just that the Pats have asked him to try more? Basically they are both guaranteed from inside the 50. Folk has been a top 5 kicker this year. Bass has been the best in the NFL.

The oline isn't "edge" Patriots. That is a landslide Patriots.

If it comes down to kickers both teams are in trouble. Also if both are too 5 it’s a push IMO.. mind you I expect a good close game with either team having a chance to win at the end.
