In general I don’t believe in Billsy, Bills bad luck, jinxed, etc. You make your own luck. Our management sucked for decades and therefore so did our team. Now we have a good team and we will make our own good luck. What happened 30 years ago doesn’t affect players that weren’t even born then, it’s just in our heads not theirs. They just know we win in Buffalo. So let’s get them in the mindset that we not only get to the playoffs but we contend for the Super Bowl every year. This year we can contend for a Super Bowl. It’s a reality once again and that is exciting!

Right, but the poster's point was that now the Bills HAVE begun to "make their own luck," really bad luck (and other factors) is threatening to eff up the season. We've waited forever to watch a truly competitive team again, and it might get thwarted by something entirely outside of the team's control.

That's next-level Billsy.

4D Billsy.

Quantum Billsy.

I remember Conlan or Biscuit saying one time that they hated playing against him as they were worried they would pull a muscle trying to recover from his moves

He was absolutely incredible to watch. The guy averaged 1500 rushing yards a season, over 5.0 YPC, had a mostly subpar offensive line and little to no psssing game for most of his career meaning he faced mostly stacked boxes every season. There’s almost no argument that he’s the greatest back of all time.

I really think both backs will have an excellent season as long as Daboll doesn't abandon the run like he did for stretches last year.

I don’t follow you here. Gore was toast by the Washington game and Motor was just beginning to hit stride. The new passing game also began to gel at the same time. It was good enough to get us 10-3. Are you related to @ScottLaw?

In general, you’re ‘loco, Mark’. Or very young. There’s only a small handful of teams left in the NFL who don’t have a Lombardi Trophy. Stanley Cup? Fuggetaboutit. “Jackie will get it done!” Oops. “JOE will get it done!” Crap! “ JIMBO WILL Get it done!” Dammit!! “The French Connection will get it done!” SONOFA! “Hasek will carry us through!” F*#%!!

I once was as you are now. Blind faith. But I’ve seen more ‘die hard’ Bills fans die, who could fill the stadium than those who don’t acknowledge ‘the Jinx’. My 86 year old Dad is hanging on, hoping to see the jinx end that his 99 y/o Dad was unable to witness (sans Back to Back AFL titles). Now, closer to 70 than 60, I’ve finally come to know a jinx when I see one..

I see their point, but the Motor's running style with his dead stop jump cuts is nothing anyone else is doing at that level.

Not just effective, the most fun guy to watch run the ball in the whole league if you prefer the Barry Sanders style over the power guys like Dalvin Cook, Derrick Henry etc.

I prefer the Barry Sanders style if it does not come with as many losses behind line of scrimmage.

Some of his moves should have been illegal.

It seems the NFL does that with Special teams players who cannot be stopped by three players not RBs.

The amazing thing is that he did it with so many runs for losses. Which was a function of this poor offensive line.

Two-thirds of Emmett Smith’s yards came before he was touched by defender. Can you imagine Barry behind that offensive line?

Smith also got a lot of breaks due to fake injuries which "looked like he may be out of the game" but he came back after one play off.

He should have gotten a daytime Emmy award for his acting!

Sanders was amazing.  I used to go to Bucs/Lions games only because of him as the creamsicles were horrible until Dungy and even that took a couple of years (remember it was the NFCC back then).  The first QB though that was a man amongst boys though was Simpson.  I know he was a piece of crap off the field after the Police Squad movies (Nordberg), but it was like him running against children.  Admittedly I was only a toddler during his 2003 yard season, but do remember after, and the video of his prime was incredible.

I know Motor only ran a 4.6 in the combine, but he seems to have football speed.  As someone else said, this is going to be a great running team this year and even moreso when we have the play action take hold, and when they try and press up, Diggs, Brown, Beasley, and Knox will kill them downfield.

“Elizabeth, I’m comin, I’m comin.“. Good one Lime man.  It is a sin not to see Sanders or Megatron in his prime not with a good team.  I was hoping and praying after a year off, Megatron couldn’t get released from his rights to another team to see what he could have done as long as not in a New England jersey.  That would have been a nightmare.  We sucked then, but imagine Megatron with teams like Baltimore or Pittsburgh with those two cannons for arms for their respective QB’s.

He also never played with a QB who was worth a damn, teams pretty much could load up to stop run and he still produced. Easily best back ever imo.
