Ohio st going for an onside kick when they were way up was a low blow, just run the ball and mercifully end the game.

It was early in the game not at the end. They were only up 14-0. Osu  ST coach came from Maryland and they knew they could execute it based on the formation. The reason you do that if you get the chance is to put it on film for the other, better teams you are playing later.

I remember seeing that shot from last year's game LIVE, I was cracking up.

It was perfect. I was thinking, "Future meme & gif."

She tweeted out a pic of herself smiling last night and tagged Alabama Football lol

Must be the way they did the highlights seemed like it was third quarter up 40 something.

i was there in the early 2000s for a massive Sparty 4th quarter choke at AA, 3OT winner with Braylon Edwards starring in the win.

probably, doesn't have the injuries to deal with either.

Might be them in the championship game. Big ten championship could be fun if Ohio St plays Minnesota.

Probably not

Burrows doesn't have the sustained success that Tuas had and that will definitely play a part

He played decent as a RS junior but it took 5 years to fully click

a late-season "at Iowa" game has stopped many a team's greatest hopes through the years

The Floyd of Rosedale has never been more important.

True but only if it’s at night. :) I actually don’t know if this one is.

Edit: it’s a 4:00 game. Which is basically nighttime in the Midwest

Iowa "at home' has answered many wishes as a speedbump that turned out to be 3 feet high...

the big favourite comes in and about 3.5 hours later finds itself needing a long FG for the win and..... it's...... DOINK!!

Yep they are back on John L Smith territory. MAC level recruits, blowing massive late game leads, playing concussed QBs.

That program is dead

Is there a bet between the two of you?

Stop, they will bounce back ... Eventually

Sparty might be cheap enough to hang onto him and selfishly I hope so. But he’s toast in recruiting circles and it’s not getting better until/unless he hires better assistants but who would go there. It’s not a springboard to anywhere. And recruits are turned off - there is zero energy in that program

why is he toast and no energy, they were winning a few years ago?

(Serious question)

Just watch them on the field. They may have some energy today because they play Michigan but overall they just look like no one cares about getting better. They can’t get big time recruits to go there and if they can only settle for the leftover 3 stars they will never compete in the big ten east consistently. If dantonio got rid of all of his offensive assistants today,  no decent program would be interested. That’s the sign of a dead program. Then add in his off field problems.

Let’s agree they get a solid team in the field two years out of every decade?  Probably requires tOSU and/or Michigan to be weak?

Both aren’t eternally immune from rough patches

They are “decent” some years but are now trending further  downward
