He ran a campaign which waged a war against a media/establishment which wouldn't use the words: "radical Islamic extremists" for eight years.

Yes, he was highlighting that with these comments. Yes it was divisive. Yes it's fair to call it out as such -- but saying it didn't happen is incorrect.

He was the only one running on that platform -- unlike the left where every single person has run on identity politics and racial/gender/sexual division for the past several decades. As I said, it's their only play in the playbook.

 No, it was not an attempt to divide anyone on racial lines. This was one of the "nuttier" conspiracy takes of his campaign, but it had nothing to do with racial division on a larger scale whatsoever. It was about making Cruz look foolish.

Compared to the identity politics of the left, yes. He does.

I didn't vote for him in 2016 because I wasn't a fan of those tactics... so I wouldn't say I defend him. But when you're asking me to pick between Trump's tactics and those of the progressive fascist left (which speaks for the entire left these days even though they're in the minority), give me Trump all day every day.

At least he's honest about his faults. The left sees their faults as virtues.

Trump will be all over those issues anyway because, like with most "racist" things Trump said, they're way overblown to the point of being untruths.

When people look at what the man actually says, rather than the cut ups, it's a very different picture than what the press/left has pushed for two years.

Trump hasn't been the one dividing this country, despite the hype. The division started with the Russian narrative (a lie), and then identity politics/racist fearmongering was thrown on top for good measure. They literally started the conversation about Trump at 11 -- calling him Hitler and a traitor. When that's how you start, you can't really do anything but stick to those guns.

... And millions of Americans see that game for what it is: played out.

I gotta run, been waiting on wife to go to a wedding..(been like 20 years since i have been to a wedding)

But, i will reply..prolly tomorrow...but will say this regards to the bolded....bridge, brooklyn!!!!

Have a great afternoon ya nut job?

Again, what part of this statement do you not comprehend???

"If i was running the campaign this is what I would make my talking points"

Do you understand how a campaign works..let me fill you in on how this goes

Dems: "Immigration is a mess, look at the crisis at our borders. Trump solution is to build a stupid wall and break up families, even his own party voted that down, as the Rebublicans had control of all 3 branches and immigration got worse..Trump even says it has gotten worse under his leadership

Republicans" Dems blocked our wall legislation for political purposes..walls work"

That is how talkng points work

To be more concise, if you were running the campaign you would use every dishonest trick in the book to mischaracterize everything Trump has ever done or spoken about.

I understand how campaigns work, what I don't understand is people like you who put blind partisanship ahead of their country.

Did he say..." there are good [people on both sides "??? simple yes or no.

If yes, that clip can used.

Is it smart..thats another  question..

we are talking a campaign hear..not a college debate class

You're talking about a lie. A very specific lie that is EASILY proven as a lie.

Most people aren't as stupid as you wish they were.

In fact, they're smart enough to know that if you're going to launch a presidential campaign almost exclusively on that lie, then you know all you need to know about that candidate.

Part of me feels like at any moment you're going to chuckle and post, "I can't believe you guys didn't know I was joking."

This was their 30-year Senator and Leader of the dems in the Senate:

https://dailycaller.com/2015/03/31/reid-has-no-regrets-lying-about-romney-taxes-video/

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, departing Democratic Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said he had no regrets about lying on the Senate floor that Republican Mitt Romney hadn’t paid his taxes in 12 years, because in the end, “Romney didn’t win.” (VIDEO: CNN Grills State Department Spox: Why Won’t Iran Deal Be Like Failed North Korea Deal?)

Bash noted in the narration that Reid accused Romney “with no evidence” of having not paid any taxes, and also attacked the Koch brothers on the Senate floor. “No, I don’t regret that at all,” Reid responded. “The Koch brothers, no one would help me. They were afraid the Koch brothers would go after them.”

“So no regrets about Mitt Romney, about the Koch brothers?” Bash pushed. “Some people would even call it McCarthyite.”

“Well, they call it whatever they want,” he said with the faintest hint of a smile. “Romney didn’t win, did he?”

Now this is rich

You are saying that if you believe lies that are easily proven as lies, you are not bright??? is that your contention.

So are you saying Trump supporters are not bright as they believe his lies?

Or are you saying he does not lie ???

Really...with this guy in office? Who claimed on a campaign trail his opponent's father had a role in a presidential assassination? Who lied about payments to a porn start? Who lied to the American public about the Trump Tower meeting? Who lied about 1,000s and 1,000s of people in Jersy"heavy Arab population" celebtrating 9/11 " .The  dude  even lies about where his Dad was born?

Ane you want to claim that someone using a clip OF HIM SAYING DIRECTLY "there were good people on both sides"...his somehow immoral ???

Now i know you are going to say.."

" Lenz, are really dumb enough to think I was serious , of course I was joking"  Vant be any other explanation

Plenz he’s taking about THAT lie. Number one on your list. It’s not a lie in that he said “there are good people on both sides”. Yes he said that. But people took that to mean there are good Nazi skinheads. He did not say that or even insinuate that. As a matter of fact he said the the Nazis are terrible people in that same conversation but the MSM, for whatever reason (I’m kidding we all know why), left that part out.

My contention is that allowing for, and repeating, lies simply because that's that the way things go in politics is very telling.

Conservatives mocked Barry for saying he was in 57 states, but no one actually BELIEVED he meant 57 states. No one launched a GOP presidential campaign over concern that Barry was unable to county the number of states comprising the country.

And for the record, had you been here during the GOP primaries, you would have read countless posts from conservatives such as myself giving Trump all kinds of grief for the stupid stuff he said during the primaries. Hell, we still give him grief over his stupid twitter stuff.

But we don't REPEAT AND SHARE his stupidity as gospel.

That's always the difference between the left and right: the right thinks for itself and left needs its party to tell them how to think.

As I have contended all along here..i am not saying right wrong or indifferent...I am saying I can see a campaign taking that clip...and superimposing pictures behind the clip of neo-nazis etc...and for Trump supporters to have outrage over that seems a little pot..black type thing

See, I guess I will just need to consult you Trump experts to know when to believe something Trump says, and when" well that was just a slip of the tongue" , or he really didnt mean that, just ignore it....

and I don't know how many times I can say I am not  "left" ..and I would challenge you to find somewhere on here,  anywhere, where  any of my views could be considered "left" or not conservative except for extreme right views of sexuality or religion.

You want to brand the "left" as groupthink, and again that just boggles my mind when you see all the "right" line up behind Trump, especially those in the Republican party, that refuse to challenge him on any policy or untruth....it is the same on both my sides my friend, you are just seeing in the lens of your world view, as I do mine as does everyone.

I however and able to listen to arguments from "your" side, and agree with several points. As I said up thread, I could make the same 10 bullet list from Trump's side on why he is the greatest president ever..its called campaigning and politics..it always has been and always will be dirty...from both sides.

So the bottom line here is that you are completely okay with the entire DNC pushing and promoting the lie about Trump, and you're justification is that Trump lies, so all is fair.

That's really what this discussion is about. You see them all doing it -- the entire party and the  MSM -- and you're okay with it.

Frankly,  in the midst of all the lies by Trump and the DNC,  the one undeniable truth is that THIS is what the Donner Party has in their quiver to fight Trump: socialism, open borders, infanticide, Green New Deal, voting rights for terrorists, and a lie about Trump.

The Donner Party better get its act together soon or come 2020 the party is going to look like a Gallagher prop.
