"Fever Pitch," no doubt!  That movie is going to ROCK! :vomit:

I was wondering who the first dink to make a Red Sox movie was going to be.  Congrats Jimmy Fallon, you just killed your already pathetic movie career.

Yeah, that should suck pretty hard.

It'll be a good way for Sox fans to waste their money, though, along with the dozen or so books being published this year about last year's team (all rushed to print by Boston sportswriters looking to cash in quick).

Actually Fever Pitch, while it will likely suck, was bought and started filming well before the Red Sox win. It was supposed to be about a fan who rooted for perrennial losers but the Sox just happened to win when they were making the movie. It's from a Nick Hornby novel, and he's an excellent writer. Two pretty good films were made from his books, High Fidelity where Jack Black was awesome, and About A Boy, which wasn't too bad.

Definitely Amityville Horror.  The original had some great moments but left a lot of room for improvement.

Two words why it will suck, hard: Micheal Bay, the root of all evil.

High Fidelity the novel was FAR better than High Fidelity the movie.

Did you get my PM?

Also, Fever Pitch is directed by the Farrelly Brothers who happen to make pretty funny movies (sometimes). So there's hope.

But it's curious to see that the trailers are not advertising it as a Farrelly Bros movie. I figured that would be a big selling point. It could be because they want to market it more as a date movie/ro-com than a low brow humor type movie.

I just remember during the ALCS last year hearing how conflicted the Farrelly Bros were when the Sox were making their comeback. The movie called for the Sox to lose and a Boston victory would require an entirely new ending (along with the couple millions of dollars to reshoot it probably), but as life long Boston fans, how could the Farrelly's root against it?

I really liked the movie, although yes the book, as usual, was far better. But was surprised at how much the movie resembled the book to be honest. It seems like they took a lot of Hornby's great dialogue right from the pages. It probably would have been better to set it in London but I can see why they made the choices they did. Jack Black made me howl, I liked the girl a lot, Catherine Zeta Jones, although I wanted to shoot her, rarely has looked better, And every once in a great while, like Say Anything, John Cusack really nails one for me, which I thought he did there.

No, didn't get the PM, BTW.

I may boycott the movie simply for the shameless shots of Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore in the stands because it was FOX Sports doing the games and FOX Studios doing the movie. And not only did I hate them letting Fallon and Barrymore on the field right after the win, but having the cameras on them kissing was unconscionable.

I think I will buy a ticket for a film I like that deserves the money and then walk into Fever Pitch.

The Game Of Their Lives - Website

From the directors of Rudy and Hoosiers, it's the story about the 1950 US Soccer World Cup team that was made 10 days prior to the competition in Brazil. The team had no business being at the cup and they ended up beating England which was the World's best at that time.

It's an indie film that is getting a lot of buzz right now. It opens on April 22nd in select cities but should expand nationwide shortly after. It's getting 4, 5 stars from all the reviewers.

Whether you like soccer or now, it's one of those Miracle-type movies that's about more than the sport itself and makes you feel good to be an American.

Fever Pitch

This promises to be a light hearted comedy that I'm sure will relate to me as a Bills Fan.

The heartbreaking experiences of the constant losses and then driving my boyfriends crazy because I refuse to go anywhere on weekends during football season unless there is a sports bar available.
