Going into next season, assuming we don't move anyone, we should have Glenn, Incognito, Wood, Ducasse, Dawkins from left to right. That really doesn't look too bad. I know Duccasse isn't great, but he was serviceable down the stretch. Wood is decent, Incognito's a legit pro-bowler, and Glenn (assuming he's healthy) and Dawkins make for nice bookend tackles. Do we really need significant upgrades or do we just need better coaching and scheming? I believe Glenn's day in Buffalo are over. He will be traded as we now have our LT in Dawkins. Ducasse still sucks at anything but run blocking. Also would like to see a Center drafted to replace Wood.

I think they'll get him through the rehab process to make sure he's healthy then sell him for the best draft pick they can get.
Ramza86
The current line is manageable....but you have to aim higher if you want to dominate games on the ground and protect ur new QB.
Lfod
I'm definitely no expert. In my opinion whatever the offense was this year was not acceptable. I do think investing heavily in the line would help in the development of a rookie QB. If your gonna tie up big money in a QB with a name then maybe you have to sacrifice what you could do with the line. Simple answer is yes I would love an upgraded elite o-line. I wouldn't mind some domination in the trenches. I'd rather build a brick wall then a wooden fence if I'm thinking protection. I also realize I can't always have what I want. I wouldn't find anything about this year's offense acceptable outside of running back and kicker. Edited January 15, 2018 by Lfod
BmarvB
Upgrade the right side of the line, and prepare to add some youth behind Wood & Incognito. Glenn may not be healthy enough to stay on the team next season. Let's hope the new OC reinstalls the power blocking scheme for the run game, and better protection schemes for our next QB

Draft a guy, sign a guy, let Groy play there, I don't care. Just save the $7 million. Better to move on a year too soon than a year too late. At 35 years old, there will not be a gradual decline. He will hit a wall. He does take really good care of his body - if he wants to keep playing and continues playing at a high level I say let him. I'd actually consider extending him to lower the cap hit this year if he plans on playing in 2019.

Incognito and Wood, specifically. They have been a pretty good run blocking line, but not very good in pass blocking. Yes, Taylor has had the most time to throw, but I attribute that to his mobility and escaping the pocket. Peterman got fed to the wolves when he started. He had no time to throw. 46 minutes ago, dneveu said: He does take really good care of his body - if he wants to keep playing and continues playing at a high level I say let him. If the coaches think Groy is not a drop off, I would consider that, but I am against the idea of cutting a pro bowl starter just to save the cap space, considering we are not incredibly tight on space right now . We aren't the browns. We need to keep our talent that has bought in to the new culture. Haven't seen a drop off in his play yet. Besides, we can always ask him to restructure. We should be drafting olinemen every year until it is completely overhauled, in my opinion. I agree, we need to sign a LT, LG and RG through FA or the Draft. Protecting the rookie QB should be our #1 priority. Ideally I would like to have two pro bowl caliber type players on the O-Line with good backups and solid PS players.
