Bills bengals on Syracuse or Cortland TV? Why on Fox?

Recommended Posts

Leaving for the weekend and just tried to set the DVR. But I see no signs of the Bills bengals game on local TV!

I just checked again, on NFL.com's schedule, and it's likely because the game is to be on Fox and the giants are playing. But why the heck are two AFC teams scheduled for Fox? What am I missing here?

Is the game definitely not on in this area?

The "cross flex" mechanism will serve a similar purpose. Select games can be flexed between CBS and FOX. In the past, a game with two NFC teams had to be on FOX and a game with two AFC teams had to be on CBS. Now, the league can theoretically move an all-NFC game to CBS or an all-AFC game to FOX in select cases. This will help balance out the television schedule, especially in a week where one network has all the most intriguing games. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000343369/article/2014-nfl-schedule-flex-games-can-now-start-in-week-5

Looks like new NFL flexing rules allows the NFL to show games on either network.

Currently Syracuse CBS feed is showing Baltimore-Dallas, Fox channel will be showing the Giants-Chicago game. That was a decision made by Fox 68 WSYT based upon popularity and overall record of the Giants vs Bills in CNY. http://www.syracuse.com/axeman/index.ssf/2016/11/fox_68_in_syracuse_will_broadcast_giants-bears_over_bills-bengals.html

Guess Buffalo Wild Wings for me!

Was curious and eventually found the above info. The NFL "cross flexes" some games between affiliates to help the networks show better double headers. Looks like you got boned so CBS could show Philly-Seattle to most of the country. Here's the coverage map:

The question I have is if the NFL can flex to either network, why the hell is Baltimore-Dallas on?

Dallas is "americas team" and they're winning. I can't believe they're not showing the Bills in Syracuse. Unreal.

Yeah, Dallas has the best record in the NFL in case you missed that.

The way the NFL defines flex scheduling with broadcast networks,a Buffalo Bills home game might not be broadcast in Buffalo. Still, there's easily more Bills fans here in Syracuse, than NJ Giants fans. Here's a poll that proves that:

Yeah I must have missed it because I could give 2 big ones about Dallas.

but most NFL fans do. Dallas has the best record, prescott v romo story, comeback games. they're a fun team to watch right now. can't blame the NFL for knowing that.
