He's playing catch up to Bo, and he just absolutely sucked. If we can get rid of Nanny Jr, that would be nice too. She's just driving me crazy now. As soon as it ends she grabs the phone and votes. While we watch, I'm recording NCIS, and as soon as the show is over, we watch it together. She's not crazy about NCIS, and I'm not crazy about Idol, but we reach that middle ground. Spending time together, makes the relationship work. OnTheRocks Posted March 23, 2005 Author Share Posted March 23, 2005 Top 11 Based on last night: Vonzell - The underdog! although these kids need to be careful when they stand right in front of the judges table when they sing. if they have a single glitch...they will be done. She has a fabulous personality. Great looks, and "pretty good" voice. The only thing that might be her downfall is her age. The preasure builds as the contest goes on. Carrie - I agree she has zero personality, but she has that All-American look, great eyes, great smile....avg. voice....but better than most on the show. I personally really liked her performance last night. Bo - Fan favorite. (i guess). Good stage presence, although last night was his worst performance. Nadia - I have a small problem with Nadia. She is a great performer at this level. However...I can't stand looking at her when she sings. She makes ugly facial expressions. She needs to come back from last nights average performance. Scott - I think Scott is one of the top three voices in the competition, but he has an uphill battle with his image. Jessica - See notes on Scott. Good voice, but a problem with image. She really could have done much better with that sone last night. I was suprised she was in the bottom 3 last week. Anwar - Don't hate me....because I know he is popular, but I don't like him. I think he is a phoney. And last night he really wasn't very good. In fact...he wasn't very good last week either. Constantine - You can only have one rocker and Bo, is miles ahead of him. I think he could have rocked that song a little harder last night...he has a little "Ben Folds Five" sound to him. Nikko - I know...last night was his best performance....but i can't stand the image of the hat every week. plus i was never a fan of his father and that really sits in the back of my mind. Anthony - some people are under the radar good. this guy is "under the radar bad". he doesn't draw a lot of attention to himself....but once Mikalah is voted off, he won't have anyone to hide behind. Let's see if they can pick something better next week. Carrie was awesome last night. Jessica's voice just does not seem to be strong enough to do that song. She held back too much. Overall, I would give the same grades that you did. 284156[/snapback] Wow, this is a rare moment when we agree on something lol. When I first heard that Anwar was singing 'Ain't Nobody' I thought if anyone up there could pull it off it would be him. I swear, the first half of the song he looked like Bledsoe in the pocket......he just kinda stood there and got lost in the lights. All of a sudden he came alive toward the end of it and redeemed himself somewhat, but that guy has a massive voice and he needs to use it. Chaka Kahn is probably the only one who should be singing that song, though. As for Carrie, I swear she sounded just as good as the Wilsons with that song. I had the show over my home theater last night and her voice was spot on. After the last two weeks or so, I have to say she really surprised me. Jessica......I don't know if she shot herself in the foot or if it was the fact that they just don't have time to sing the full song at this point d/t the number of contestants left. But you just cannot rush 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. It's a very emotional song and hastening the pace ruined the presence of what is otherwise a very good song. I was laying there in bed last night with a 101 degree fever, just wishing I was dead because all of those no-talent karaoke hacks were singing pathetic songs very badly.
