The games will not appear on MSG or any other RSN if you do not subscribe to NHL CI.

Not necessarily. There are a couple of regions in upstate NY where the games are part of the local sports package. If he can change his zip code to Albany he could probably get the MSG+ :)

Perhaps it's my rose-colored, pre-season optimism goggles speaking, but I honestly think we are going to surprise people and make the playoffs this year. We have quietly assembled one of the fastest teams in the league and have enough center talent to finally roll four once again. We are going to wear people down in the process.

Of course the goaltending and blue line will be key and the early season injuries to 1/2 of our top four is gonna hurt initially, but I see that aspect of our game gelling after a couple months.

GO SABRES!!!

30 Thoughts -- http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/30-thoughts-why-the-sudden-delay-in-expansion-talk/

25. With Ryan O’Reilly and Jack Eichel down the middle, the Buffalo Sabres tried 2014 second-overall selection Sam Reinhart on the wing last weekend in Toronto. He had three assists. It will be a big adjustment for Reinhart because, as one coach pointed out, “at wing, he’s going to get hit a lot more than he’s used to.” If he goes to the AHL, what position does he play?

26. If nothing else, Jack Eichel is showing the upcoming season will not be a Connor McDavid Calder coronation. He’s going to make this a race. In his first preseason game, Eichel directed Zemgus Girgensons and Matt Moulson into position as he needed them. Sometimes, rookies do that and eyes roll. One player said that wasn’t the case here.

“He knows what he’s doing and how to handle it.”

27. As impressive as Eichel looks, the Sabres were probably happiest when Robin Lehner posted a 26-save shutout of Toronto on Tuesday. Lehner looks… big. They need him.

I feel bad for Kaleta...wonder if they will find a role for him somewhere.

Dude would give his right nut to play for the Sabres...but his body just cannot make it anymore.

He signed an AHL deal before camp, so he'll be in Rochester.

@JonLaneNHL

@BuffaloSabres coach Dan Bylsma is my preseason pick to win the Jack Adams award. Here's why: http://www.nhl.com/ice/m_news.htm?id=780899

It's become a habit to dismiss the Buffalo Sabres and any iota of a chance they have of reaching the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They've averaged a shade over 21 wins the past three seasons, and in each of the previous two finished at or near the bottom of the NHL in most offensive and special-team categories.

But there are precedents of teams making quantum leaps in the NHL standings. TheMontreal Canadiens ascended from the Eastern Conference basement to a first-place finish in the Northeast Division in 2013. A season later, the Colorado Avalanche rose from 29th in the League (39 points in 48 games) to 112 points and the Central Division title. An extreme example is the 1992-93 San Jose Sharks, whose 58-point jump from the season before remains the biggest turnaround in League history.

26, I don't think Kaleta can play at any level...his body just seems to be broken down and every time he steps on the I e he gets hurt.

Just like I want Freddy to have a role with the Bills, hope Patty can find something with the Sabres.

It's hard to argue your point given his injury history in recent seasons.
