Please take off your red nose, makeup, and big shoes before posting. Thank You. BTW, Still waiting for your all-22 EJ breakdown that will never see.

You are pathetic, feel sorry for ya, well not really! And you will keep waiting as there is a 7 page thread that has already broken it down every which way possible. Work has already been done, go read it, no need to reiterate again what has been said.

Miami was 2 weeks ago. What value is there to highlighting the good if you're not going to discuss the bad?

And isn't it reasonable to say that metrics can help provide a view to whether or not the QB can play? Throw in the All-22 analysis which is a better visual, and you've got evidence something's wrong with the QB despite having offensive skill players said to be better than they've had.

I absolutely discuss the bad. What I'm telling you is that the conversation that Stopthepain and I were having was about the Miami game, and my statement to him was that EJ played well enough to win that game (I was there was just kind of a bragging point--man that was a fun game).

I never once said EJ was anything other than brutal against SD (I may have said horrible or awful, but you get the point). I think too many folks mistake a few of us for apple-polishers; that's not the case. I'm a "just the facts"/bottom line kinda guy; I call 'em like I see 'em.

EJ's had 2 solid games, and 1 stinker. 7/21 to WRs is totally unacceptable, and I expect that to be an aberration if EJ is to remain a starting QB in this league. As I've continued to say: he followed each of his 3 stinkers last year with solid games (and wins), so let's see if he can continue that trend.

I didn't bring Tom Brady into the conversation, no. 26Cornerblitz did.

It doesn't matter who "brought him into the conversation", you steped on his argument, and made a portion of it your own. You don't get to absolve yourself of the things you say simply because you weren't the first person to say it.

What is your standard of quality? A middling talent that was a massive reach in the first round?

For someone who has invoked logical fallacies as a staple of their participation in this thread, you sure seem overly willing to trot them out.

I keep seeing here this mantra of "accuracy can't be improved / taught" etc etc.

Here are Philip Rivers' #s focusing on his accuracy. Funny. It improved over time, especially after his first couple of seasons. And got even better the past couple of years under McCoy. Huh.

Year GS Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD Y/A
2004 0 5 8 62.5% 33 1 4.1
2005 0 12 22 54.5% 115 0 5.2
2006* 16 284 460 61.7% 3388 22 7.4
2007 16 277 460 60.2% 3152 21 6.9
2008 16 312 478 65.3% 4009 34 8.4
2009* 16 317 486 65.2% 4254 28 8.8
2010* 16 357 541 66.0% 4710 30 8.7
2011* 16 366 582 62.9% 4624 27 7.9
2012 16 338 527 64.1% 3606 26 6.8
2013* 16 378 544 69.5% 4478 32 8.2
2014 3 67 98 68.4% 778 6 7.9
Career 131 2713 4206 64.5% 33147 227 7.9

Brady's also improved generally over time although his team has always been heavy on screens, dump-offs and behind-the-line-of-scrimmage passes.

He's my favorite example, but Rodgers improved a few percentage points over time. Drew Brees in YEAR 4 (!) jumped 5 percentage points higher than his career best in completion percentage.

It is only natural that as QBs get more comfortable with the position, they can become more accurate. They become more comfortable with what they see on the field. They develop trust and communication with receivers (a big issue for EJ and co right now IMO). This is not a sealed deal yet. EJ has not worked wonders, but I think those who believe the book is written on him are rushing to judgment.
