Field Passes - what to expect?

Have an opportunity to be on the field pregame this week and was hoping to get some inside information on what to expect......other than rain and t-storms. Have always wanted to do this and finally know the right people!

You'll go to a table and get your passes, they'll direct you down the lower bowl steps where security will be waiting to verify you belong on the field and open the gate to let you down there. Once there, you'll be told to stay behind the yellow painted line. If it's still the same setup as when I went last year, you'll get your passes on the Visitor side of the stadium. You can walk around the field to the Bills side, just remember to stay along the wall as you go past the scoreboard endzone. Do not go onto the field at anytime or security will toss you. The Bills players usually warm up in the scoreboard endzone. Do not ask them for autographs. You can take pictures though.

I have an epic story regarding fake field passes that's too long to type out but I laugh whenever I think about it.

Just remember when your down there your not a fan, you're a guest and they'll toss you in a heartbeat if you're not on your best behavior. Take lots of pictures.

I did it three times, my brother did some shooting for UPI. I had a blast walking on the sidelines. Went up the tunnel during half time into a lockeroom with the rest of the photographers. It was so loud and the game is fast as hell

Back when they had Jills, you got a little bonus! But unfortunately, now the drumline takes care of those duties. I'd probably pass if I were you.

I've been able to do it 3 times, most recently last week. Always a blast.

In my experience, standing just to the left of the Bills' bench (facing the field) is a good place to be. Under Chan, that's where the LBs used to warm up. Now its the RBs and WRs. Freddie and CJ came over and shook hands with fans at the rope line there.

Have fun!

There used to be a gorgeous young woman that would lead groups onto he sideline preface. Missed out on that too

Thanks to Jack and others for the heads up on what to expect - looking forward to this!

If you end up on the tunnel side of the bills sideline, come over and say hi.... I'm right behind the kicking net and will be sporting my #6 Powell jersey, lol

As jack has mentioned go to the end zone where the Bills will be warming up. You might have to move occasionally as the players go out of bounds sometimes. Highlights for me have been standing behind the end zone while the offensive line practices snaps and being amazed at the size of these guys. The pictures that I got including with Thurman Thomas on the Bills sideline, seeing Jim Kelly on the sideline but you wont get pics with him, he's usually doing a private escorted tour but not sure what he'll be doing now.

A feeling I'll never forget on a foggy, misty day being on the field at a Bills Jets game and hearing Phil Collins Air of Night booming from the speakers. It was kind of a surreal moment and I will do on field every chance I get.

Make sure you get there early enough to enjoy it as it is a really cool thing.

Also, don't drink too much beer before you go down there because it is a pain to leave and use the bathroom and then come back to the field.

Had a really great experience down there. It was my girlfriend and my nephew and his wife. We entered Gate 2 as soon as it opened and went right down to the field. I was surprised we didn't have any escort - just some staff keeping people moving out of off-limits areas. Was second in line in the scoreboard end zone, watching Bills warm up. Got great photos and saw some really nice gestures by Aaron Williams, Mike Williams, Leodis and CJ to make special efforts to give kids a chance to have a photo, or to get a glove or football. That was really great to see - the kids' looks were priceless.

One funny thing that stood out - Aaron Williams was out there very early and there was a 20-something girl in the end zone seats with a big pink heart sign for #23. After a few minutes he went over to her and said something, then asked her for her marker. He took off both shoes and proceeded to sign them both. The girl was so excited with anticipation, standing with her hand over her mouth like she couldn't believe what was happening. Then Williams gave her back her pen, picked up his shoes and walked away, threw a glove to a kid standing on the field and ran off the field. The girl was left standing there with her mouth hanging open, dumbfounded.....for a full minute. If it wasn't so sad for her, it would have been pretty funny. OK, it WAS pretty funny. Kind of like a "Punk'd" show.
