BPA - Rank this year's draft prospects

Recommended Posts

These extra two weeks have only allowed our minds to keep kicking out ideas of who we might draft and where. The common theme and indeed mantra of teams this time of year is to draft the best player available. So my question is, if the Bills stay at #9, who is the best player available?

For this exercise, write out you top 10 and how you arrived at it.

My top 10 is based solely on college career output (my interpretation of it anyway). Combines and pro-days seem to distract more than inform. How many workout warriors were busts? (Cough) Maybin! (Cough)

1) DE J. Clowney

2) OT G. Robinson

3) LB K. Mack

4) OT J. Matthews

5) OT T. Lewan

6) WR S. Watkins

7) CB D. Dennard

8) DT A. Donald

9) LB CJ Mosley

10) LB A. Barr

I don't think there is a TE worthy of a top ten pick. I think honorable mentions go out to FS Ha-ha Clinton-Dix and CB J. Verrett.

So if the first 8 were gone we would say hello to CJ Mosley assuming all the teams' boards were lined up this way.

Again, these are just my opinion. What's yours?

1. Clowney

2. Robinson

3. Watkins

4. Mack

5. Evans

6. Dennard

7. Bridgewater

8. Donald

9. Carr

10. Beckham (surprise!)

Runners up- Matthews, Ebron, Pryor and Shazier

Based on watching games. Do not pay attention to the combine whatsoever unless it's players vs lower competition and just need something to verify that they are physically competent compared to NFL talent or something sticks out like a sore thumb.

As said prior, I think this is very close to dead on. But, can't come up with something better. Well said and played!

1 - Clowney. Best athlete in the draft with the highest upside.

2 - Mack. Best football player and will make an immediate impact for any team.

3 - Robinson. Plug and play left tackle.

4 - Watkins. Best route runner in the draft.

5 - Manziel. You can't teach the leadership he brings. I think he'll fail, but have to have him here for now.

6 - Matthews. Can play any position on the line and is still a heck of a tackle.

7 - Evans. Elite size and wingspan. May have the most upside of any WR in the draft.

8 - Donald. While a college DT, I think he projects to a DE for me. Fast and mean off the edge.

9 - Martin. Another guy that can play any offensive line position, but is best at guard.

10 - Barr. Basically an upgraded version of Brian Urlacher. Enough said.

I've spent an unbelievable amount of time on this year's draft (even more than last year's) because I just can't get my final mock down. So much that can happen this year. Last year was easier to project due to the QBs not being there.

I started by picking an offensive and defensive team. Next step, eliminated 1 offense and 1 defense player for 6 rounds to get down to 10. Then matched remaining up with a team. Finally, ranked them 1-10
