Right...at my current rate of pay, it would only take me about 18 years to pull in the filthy lucre! But, my fantasy football team is 5-2!!!!

I think you know what I meant... "For an NFL player."

Maybin is a pass rush specialist, the Bills never played him. When he went to the Jets he proved he can bring the heat, the Bills were stupid to not use the man correctly. He could of been a hell of a player for us.

Maybin has one tackle this year. ONE. How has he proven he can bring the heat? The Bills made the right call to cut his a$$.

im not saying the jets should be punished (blowing guys up with clean hits is part of the game).

just mind boggling that this is a non-story for the nfl while the saints got crushed for very similar issues. doesnt seem like a 60 games worth of suspension, 2 high draft pick kind of distinction between the two.

I don't make nearly that much per year, do you?

I'm not going to answer that for a number of reasons. If you wish to discuss your personal finances on this board, you're welcome to do so, however.

I stand by my statement... $615K is not gobs of money for an NFL player.

How again did he prove he could bring the heat? Was that after he was cut the first time by the Jets, or by being a healthy scratch for a bunch of games? He isn't even a "hell of a player" for the Jets, yet thats proved to you he could have been one here if used correctly?

Can depend on how they say it. They can say they are going to go after and want to be the one to tackle him, thats fine

But if they start offering money or rewards for making the hit, with the money/prize being awarded for the player being removed from the game due to injury, thats what makes it "Saints level"

I completely agree. The irony is that some people who posted here think it's a non-story. Maybe they didn't read the article.

My whole point is that one of the worst defensive players on the team is talking smack. That's like Mario Mendoza calling a home run.

cant suspend players for the money aspect per nfl bylaws. the current suspension are based on intent to injure. heck, fujitas suspension is currently for not reporting it.

further, the money was only awarded for clean hits (and in wins) allegedly, which matches the payouts that have been seen so far.

While the average NFL Salary is $1.9 million the median is "only" $700k - so Maybin's not too far from the middle of the pack. This is based on 2011 salaries though.

Fair enough. Thanks for backing it up with a link.

According to this link, he's making the league minimum for a third-year player.

Sorry but this is by far the dumbest thing I have read in a while. You would have to be batshit crazy to think he is a specialist in anything other than bench warmer, and that he could have been a hell of a player. He has ZERO tackles, and ZERO sacks. Wait... were you being facetious? If so then golf clap... well played. If you're being serious, then as they say here in Banjo-Land "bless your soul!"

I hate this guy. I hate everything about this dumb guy.

When we drafted him our number one need at the time was pass rush. He provided zero.

If he was a bust at our #2 need position, then I would just be dissapointed. But we needed him to produce sacks and qb pressures, and he didnt. If my memory is correct Schobel was still with the team. Having 2 pass rushers could have made our season 3 years ago more exciting. And with possibly, better results.

I hate this joke.
