I believe the Chargers have said already they will Franchise Brees...Could be wrong though...

Looks like JP or Drew once again, does it not???

Let's bring back Collins. He has done a pretty good job for the Chiefs since leaving Buffalo. We would have to morthgage the farm to get Brees.

By the way, Pittsburgh proved today that they are a great team all around not because of Roesthlisburger (who is overrated).

I wouldn't mind Charlie Batch either. He never got a fair shake in the NFL - played on the worst team with the worst receivers with the worst offensive line for two or three years. By the time they started improving those areas, they brought in Harrington.

So, some viable short term alternatives could be..

Mike McMahon

Charlie Batch

Kelly Holcomb

UFA Mike McMahon of the Lions could be worth a look.

I agree--I actually think McMahon might have an upside. But I'd rather see the Bills work hard on getting Losman up to speed in the off season and training camp. After all, that's why they drafted him. Wyche is a good teacher, and Clements and Mularkey even made Maddox into a pro bowler a couple of years back, and had Kordell Stewart playing the best QB of his career.

Please, no Todd Collins! If he were any good the Chiefs would have played him some time in the last eight years. He's a permanent benchwarmer.

I do too... I hope I am wrong?

Isn't it a tad early to call the kid a bust? After all, it was pretty well established that of all the first round QBs, JP would need the most "grooming time". I don't think five series really constitutes enough time especially considering he missed half the year with a broken leg.

Give the kid through 2006 before we label him as a bust OR the second coming. For now he is just an unknown.

Hasslebeck is a great QB! His wide receivers cannot catch the damn ball. Seattle has Shawn Alexander and Walter Jones as FAs too at least one of them will walk. Charlie Batch is a solid QB(for real) and could be had cheap. I would consider Batch an improvement. I would like us to resign Mathews, sign Batch, drop Drew and give JP a shot in minicamp to be our starter. Open competition at the QB position for once.

Why? Do we need a QB or something?

Wow, 2 starting QB's on the team and we're still shopping.

We need a veteran to replace Drew. Well that is if we want to win a playoff game. The veteran would back up JP. JP should go into camp the #1 and there should be open competition. We should cut our losses with Drew and get whatever we can for him. That frees up cap space and we can address other needs.
