Honestly I'm terrified that there are enough idiots in this country who know more about honey booboo and American idol than about this election and are just going to vote the celebrity chief back in and screw the rest of us.

f

You're terrified about it, and Obama is counting on it. Without divorce papers to have opened, he needs these people to show up. The chance we have at this point is believing the countless Peggys who showed up last year won't show up again...cuz that's how he won.

Four more years of government assault on our individual religious freedom;

This Denver Family Is Not Entitled to Religious Freedom, Obama’s DOJ Argues

As the president of the United States was asserting his support for religious freedom at the United Nations Tuesday, his Department of Justice was filing an appeal in the case of the Newland family of Denver, who were granted a preliminary injunction in July to protect their Hercules HVAC business – for now – from the Department of Health and Human Services abortion-drug, sterilization, contraception mandate.

DOJ argues that when the Newlands lost their religious liberty when they made the free decision to enter the “the marketplace of commerce.”

That is not exactly the “unwavering support” for religious liberty President Obama claims.

Michigan Attorney General Backs Religious Freedom of Family Business, Catholic Lawyers vs. HHS Mandate

Arguing the Department of Health and Human Services abortion-drug, sterilization, contraception insurance mandate is both a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has filed an amicus brief in support of the family-owned Weingartz Supply Company lawnmower and snowblower part company and Legatus, a professional association of Catholic lawyers.

Legatus and the Weingartz Supply Company, he argues, “may establish religious principles on which to operate their business even if their mission is secular in nature.”

“It is easy to envision a family-owned business that would not wish to endorse non-Kosher foods, collect interest on debt, or sell pornography,” he writes in the brief. “This misguided effort to circumscribe religious liberty to only religious organizations is similar to confining religious practice to worship, as if religious principles should not animate a corporation – or a person – in public and commercial life,” he continues. “It is akin to the error that suggests that only priests or ministers should express religious views. But this is a misunderstanding of religion and religious freedom. It is the right of the ordinary person. Because Legatus and Weingartz Supply Company have demonstrated such a burden on their religious exercise, this Court should grant their preliminary injunction.”

“In addition to impacting religious schools and hospitals, this unconstitutional mandate will force private sector job-providers across America to violate their conscience,” Schuette says in a release this morning. ”The First Amendment applies to everyone, and I will continue to defend religious liberty for all, not just the chosen few dictated by the federal government.”

I'm not terribly concerned with this election. If Obama wins again perhaps it will be cause for the Republicans to restructure as a fiscally conservative party and put this middle of the road triangulation strategy in the grave where it belongs. I prefer the strategy of educating people on why they should share your view than bending to try to accept theirs. Morons like Dave who think government spending to create demand creates growth  are never going to swing your way no matter how many times their idiotic theory is tested and fails, but it seems there is a big effort to reach out to make the morons feel accepted.

It might not matter any more anyway. The bus is going over the cliff, it's just a matter of how fast we get there and where we land. This election might just be to determine who's going to be behind the wheel when it happens.

The hope is that we will see the Libertarian Party emerge on the scene. The Fiscal Conservatism that frees up Ideas and Dreamers to thrive, yet at the same time lets two Homersexuals get married and for Women to continue to have the right to choose.

The Libertarian Platform will unite the common sense Democrats and Repucblicans who are tired of the two party farce, and create and environent where we can talk about:

1. Is the War Department for "Defense", or Offense

2. Is shifting some Medicare partipcants onto Private Medical Plans really that radical, given that some would prefer it?

3. Why is Government bailing out anybodt, whether it be homeonwers, car compaines, etc?

4. Should Government be backing mortgages, student loans, farms, oil compaines, anybody... and inteferere and skew markets that woudl other wise serve needs

5. Could SS have way less people on the rolls, can it exist as a safety net for the needy, not a national pension program?

NOTHING will be fixed in 4 more years, my guess it is wil get worse no matter who gets elected.

What kind of half-assed rationale is that?

And try - just try - to reconcile that with the Supreme Court decision that corporations have the same freedom-of-speech rights as individuals.

4 more years !!!

Job growth stronger in year to March than first thought

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. economy likely created 386,000 more jobs in the 12 months through March than previously estimated, the Labor Department said on Thursday in a preliminary estimate of its annual "benchmark" revision to closely watched payrolls data.

Once a year, the department compares its non-farm payroll data, based on monthly surveys of a sample of employers, with a much more complete database of unemployment insurance tax reports.

It said its latest comparison suggests the level of employment in March was 0.3 percent higher than it had previously stated.

A final benchmark revision will be released in February along with the department's report on employment in January. Government statisticians will use the final benchmark count to revise payroll data for months both prior to and after March.

A breakdown by industry sector showed 453,000 more total private sector jobs were created than initially thought, including 145,000 more jobs in the trade, transportation, and utilities category, plus 85,000 more in construction.

ahahahhahaa

http://www.businessinsider.com Did the first link mention WHY?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Economic growth was much weaker than previously estimated in the second quarter as a drought cut into inventories, setting the platform for an even more sluggish performance in the current quarter against the backdrop of slowing factory activity.

Go ahead oh foolish one blame the drought on Obama

If you post a like twice is it supposed to be better? Washers and Dryers?

U.S. stocks trying to snap losing streak

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- U.S. stocks moved modestly higher Thursday, even though economic reports released in the morning painted a troubling picture of the economy.

If stocks manage to end in positive territory, they would snap a five-day losing streak.

Obama may be a job creator after all

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Republicans may soon lose a key talking point. According to data released Thursday, President Obama may now be a net job creator.

In the year following Obama's inauguration, the U.S. economy lost about 4.3 million jobs. But new figures released Thursday show 4.4 million jobs have been added back since then.

Here's how it happened: Since early 2010, jobs have slowly been trickling back, particularly in professional services, health care and manufacturing. As of August, the Labor Department had indicated about 4 million jobs had been recovered overall.

You are awfully desperate to convince yourself that your guy has even a shred of competence.

Probably because he doesn't...

The Obamaphone. Refuses to work all day, but comes with a voice-activation software called Sorry that apologizes to you while explaining it's someone else's fault the phone doesn't work.

Correction: It might not be working, but let's not jump to conclusions...
