The religion of peace.

Yeah right because you've interviewed all 1 billion+ Muslims and you know what they're thinking. The most visible evidence of collective thought is neglibible % are protesting. And the reason you don't see more "moderate Muslim voices " in American media is because the media antagonists like fox don't want you to so they can keep selling the Islamic stereotype to America. Like the downtown mosque Iman who was good enough for the federal government to use as our envoy to the region, yet when he became a public figure fox & friends threw every slander they could at him.

Of course not because they aren't identifying the real culprit. Then again neither are Jim or Kool Aid.

Religion has always been used as a tool of the wicked to manipulate others. But that doesn't discount all the benefits religion has brought to our world. No one can deny the good that the Catholic Church has done throughout time. The fact remains that organized religion, almost by definition, fosters an "us against them" mentality and that creates opportunities to exploit believers to do perverted things in the name of "God". This isn't unique to Islam just as it's not unique to Christianity. Attempting to solve this problem by attacking Islam as a whole is narrow minded and accomplishes nothing but continuing the cycle of violence.

We haven't been attacked by Islam. Ever. We've been attacked by men who perverted a religion to create fanatics willing to do unspeakable things in the name of "God". That doesn't make those men the voice of Islam. To say those men have the full support of Islam simply because they pray to Allah is as true as me saying the KKK has the full support of Christians. It's a ridiculous and DANGEROUS leap to make.

Wow yet another leap to apologize for Islam. I thought the KKK was about hatred for blacks? You feel it was a religious thing? Good Lord man I bet the majority of their victims where Christian. Well at lest your examples of all religions bad has got as current as 1920.

You are as disingenuous as it gets. First of all when you direct a comment towards someone it is only right that you either quote them or name them. Now, on to the disingenuous part. "The reason you don't see more moderate Muslim voices in American media" is because "Fox" is keeping it from us? What about ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC to name a few? Tell us more about the "downtown mosque Iman? Do you have a name, and do you know anything about him and his past relationships? Please, enlighten us.

Do they? I don't know. But I think they have general support. How in Gods name do you enlightened types support a religion that puts a bullet in a woman's head for going outdoors without a relative male escort? I have never understood that.

Perhaps these enlightened types realise something that you seem incapable of - that blaming an entire religion for something that only it's most extreme adherents practice makes no sense. How many of the billion or so muslims in the world practice or support putting a bullet in a women's head for going outdoors? I think you will find that it's a tiny, tiny minority and yet you're quite happy to state that's the religion itself that does it as if it's somehow common practice. You don't seem like a stupid person but that's a pretty damn stupid statement.

Give them a break, they're still trying to figure out that printing press thing.

Ah for the good old days when all we had were 3 TV channels and uncle Walt would blow the Kennedys and do the war time correspondent act trotting around Saigon pretending we lost the Tet offensive. The Lybob's of today would be in their glory.

Then where pray tell us oh wise one, are all the peace loving Muslims during this? At last count, there were over 20 American embassies attacked today, and it sure seems that at least one of them, should have had a little backlash from those that disagree with the violence shouldn't it??

Of course not all of Islam is violent, but the others sure do nothing to stop, or even condemn the ones that are...

Oh, wait, they must be apologetics too huh???

Hey, I think that we can all agree that the small percentage of Muslims doing very nasty things in the name of Islam are wrong. I guess where we differ is that some of us think that the vast majority of Muslims should not only speak up but do what is necessary to marginalize the small percentage. The problem is that they are not standing up for what is civilized.

I only hope they don't stop there...

I am just now catching up on it, some info is being leaked out down the stream. I guess the jist is they are getting info from Syria right now to give to WikiLeaks and the rebel troops there. Al-Assad is not hacked but others are in his ministry which is probably more important anyway.

The Egyptian efforts are mostly just reading through their webmail servers. Evidently, there was a lot of dead info on some installs that got people in, if I read right. It is funny, to me though, that private every day people are doing this same exact thing (spying) that probably half a dozen countries are doing.

A tiny minority? Would you like to be a woman in Saudi arabia where they put woman in prison for driving a car? That's a government policy not a few nut jobs. But you defend it in your endless Quest to raise above the mob and be all knowing. Pick a better horse to back.

Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable:

xb_20120915090611_320_240.JPG

Here’s the key bit: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”

When taking office, the President does not swear to create jobs. He does not swear to “grow the economy.” He does not swear to institute “fairness.” The only oath the President takes is this one:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated that oath. You can try to pretty this up (It’s just about possible probation violations! .... Sure it is.), or make excuses or draw distinctions, but that’s what’s happened. It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace.

He won’t resign, of course. First, the President has the appreciation of free speech that one would expect from a Chicago Machine politician, which is to say, none.

Second, he’s not getting any pressure. Indeed, the very press that went crazy over Ari Fleischer’s misrepresented remarks seems far less interested in the actions of an administration that I repeat, literally sent brown-shirted enforcers to launch a midnight knock on a filmmaker’s door.

But Obama’s behavior — and that of his enablers in the press — has laid down a marker for those who are paying attention. By these actions he is, I repeat, unfit to hold office. I hope and expect that the voters will agree in November.

The difference....which is a huge difference is that the KKK do not speak for all christians. Even if the KKK claimed to it wouldn't fly. Why not? Because average mainstream regular christians would immediatly denounce it.

Once again...militant islamic jihadists do claim to be the authority on islam. They have imams and clerics who teach and support them and in general it seems many regular muslims are either indifferent or condone their actions.

It is not logical or relevant to compare who did what or who was worse going back centuries. What matters right now in modern civilized times our country and citizens are routinely attacked by militant islamists. Period. Christians, jews, hindus, sikhs, buddhists are all irrelevant.

Nojustice has a very interesting take on the problem coming from his perspective which I can respect.

But I am not going to ignore the problem and for whatever reason whether I'm afraid of being called a racist, xenophobe, hate monger or whatever catchy phrase the left thinks up to enable these people to continue their barbaric behavior. Their actions are not compatible with a civilized society. Period.

Did you see riots death threats and honor killings for the million art exhibits or movies depicting christians, jesus, god, mary etc...negatively or disgracefully? No.

Why do others condone these idiots storming embassies and marginalizing their behavior that they just can't control themselves so its not their fault we should know better. Wtf logic is that? Let's start world apology tour 14 and apologize for being americans with freedoms and enable more douchebags to feel empowered and that they are right.

No. We're attacked by poor people who are pissed off an looking for someone to blame. People with nothing to lose who've been manipulated by "holy" men to do their bidding. These men don't act in the name of Allah and plenty of upstanding Muslims have denounced their actions. No matter how you want to spin it, attempting to portray this as an attack by the religion of Islam is not only erroneous, it's counter productive.

You offer no solutions, just more hate. That's that Christian spirit we're always hearing so much about, isn't it?
