Tony P
Very Cool. I bet you are right and that we'll see this in major sports in the not-too-distant future. Imagine what the government has floating around out there in GSO. Somewhat related (but not the same): After the Home Opener, the Bills sent me an email with a panoramic image of the Ralph taken during the game. You could manipulate the image to find yourself in the stadium (and order the photo ). Almost indistinguishable from magic to this old-timer. Chandler#81
Somewhere, George Orwell is smiling. Now, more than ever before, if you're out in public, you're being watched. Is this paranoia by default?

Fan in Chicago
The camera in the ball With the amount a ball (in an sport) moves and bounces, I am more likely to get a headache than a different perspective.

Mark Vader
Listen to your BIG BROTHER The camera in the ball Who cares. I'd rather see a camera showing the referees being paid off by the Bills opposing team's owner.

Nanker
The technology they should invest in IMHO, is to put a market on/in the ball with detectors on the goal line (let's start there and move it to the yard markers later) to make absolutely certain where the hell the ball is on the field. Fargin' Refs are atrocious at spotting the ball - the worst spot EVER was when Vinny Testaverde's helmet scored a touchdown and Dennis Erickson lost his job as a result. Also a device which detects whether FGs/Extra Points are between the uprights or not. Some of those kicks go above the height of the uprights and the officials are left guessing.
