Locker visiting Patriots

Recommended Posts

That's exactly what any Bills fans should want.

Pats draft Locker, if Brady shows his age, have the fans calling for him,

Then boo-ya bottom of the AFC East.

The Locker hate has gone way too far.

He joined a junk program that never had a top 50 recruiting class while he was there.

He played with no NFL caliber players on offense.

His coach was a first time head coach, who was only a co-offensive coordinator.

He played the entire year with a broken rib and other injuries.

He completed 58% of his passes as a junior.

Before he was injured, Sam Bradford completed 56.5% of his passes. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=188934 He completed 60% as a NFL rookie. http://www.nfl.com/players/sambradford/profile?id=BRA101548

The Dog Killer, Mike Vick, completed 54% of his passes in college.

http://www.hokiesports.com/vick/stats.html He just completed nearly 63% this year in the NFL.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=188934

The Bills owe it to Gailey to get a QB. He has worked miracles with crappy QBs. It would be amazing to see what he could do with an elite physical talent. Locker is the 2nd most physically gifted QB in this draft next to Newton.

The questions surrounding Newton are his work ethic and character. There are 0 concerns with that with Locker. The guy wants to be great. If Newton had Locker's intangibles, he would be a no-brainer #1.

If we can't get Newton or he doesn't pass the character test, I truly believe Locker would thrive learning under Fitz and Gailey. If the Pats* did draft him, I think we would regret it for years.

In locker's bowl game he didnt complete a pass until the third quarter.... I dont care who your playing with, thats unacceptable.

If a Bills QB did that he would get killed on this board

One game, in a season where he battled injuries this entire way. I don't know if you ever played football, but you don't get healthy until months after the season.

And it's funny how you point to that game, yet ignore his 300+ yards in a victory against a ranked at the time USC team or his 4 tds against a Syracuse defense that was 6th ranked pass defense in the country. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/stats/byteam?cat1=defense&cat2=Passing&conference=I-A_all&year=2010&sort=1121

One game does not make a career.

2 games dont make him a good player. He's talented sure but incredibly inconsistent and more often than not, not great

Does this change your view of him? And is that exactly what the Patriots want?

I can't remember where I saw or heard it (it was quite a while ago), but some NFL head or defensive coach once stated in an interview that he liked to interview college QBs that he expected to be drafted by other teams so he could find out more about how they made in-game decisions. His theory was that he might be defending against them in the not-so-distant future, and he thought he could create more effective defensive game plans if he knew what they liked to key on. Obviously those keys would likely change with time and pro coaching, and might be somewhat observable from future pro game film study anyway, but it struck me as a pretty imaginative use of the interview process. Must be nice to already have enough talent on your roster so that you can use the limited number of allowed pre-draft visits for such a purpose.

Sorry I can't remember which coach it was, but it sure sounds like something a defensive-oriented coach like Belicek might do. I had often heard about pre-draft interviews being used to mask true draft intentions, but it was the only time I have ever heard an NFL coach talk about using pre-draft interviews to try to gain a future in-season advantage by learning more about a player that a team had absolutely no intention of drafting.

On the other hand, maybe the defensive coach I saw interviewed worked for a team that really did need a QB, and the media interview was itself part of a smokescreen to hide his team's actual QB interest. Who knows? It's mainly smoke and mirrors this time of year.

Come on man. The whole team sucks except for Locker, really? Isn't more likely the whole team sucks including Locker.

There is nothing there.

All he did was lose at U dub, crumble under pressure, and throw inaccurate passes. Plus he has a 20 Wonderlic.

He is a waste of a pick in any round.

There really is no counter argument. What has he done that would make you believe he would be a food NFL QB?

He could run real fast and he is tall. That's about it.

Now converting him to a TE would be interesting.

Yea seriously, Locker just stinks. If you watch his games you can see it (assuming you know what to look for). If you listen to Todd McShay and read about him on internet message boards you probably can’t.

Icansleepdead may be onto something. I can see the Bills drafting Locker(doh!), Bellicheat is prob doing some reconnaissance.

We all give Belichick way too much respect, this guy was fired in Cleveland & cheated his way to 3 Super Bowl wins. As for Jake Locker he is a good kid but has Losman like accuracy and is not poised in the pocket. Lets build a defensive front 7 that will make Belichick & other teams prepare for.

-1. Hater alert. He's the best coach in football IMO. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit.
