Definitely in California if the crime occurred within a specified time before the house went up for sale. Not sure whether other states have similar disclosure rules. Can't imagine living in a house where a murder was committed, well at least if it happened less than 200 years previously. A house becomes part of one's psyche after living there for a few decades.
