Would a murder keep you from buying a house?

If the house is this, then yes I would be hesitant to purchase the property.

Otherwise, make sure all blood is cleaned up and get the best deal you can. Also think about going into the business of hosting murder mystery parties in your new home.

I'm fairly certain they have to. Well in Cali I'm pretty sure they have to.

Definitely in California if the crime occurred within a specified time before the house went up for sale. Not sure whether other states have similar disclosure rules.

In NJ disclosure is required before sale if someone simply dies in a house.

Can't imagine living in a house where a murder was committed, well at least if it happened less than 200 years previously.

A house becomes part of one's psyche after living there for a few decades.

That's a lot of time to contemplate the sad demise of the deceased.

I wouldn't want that to become part of who I am.
