Clayton's Potential Casualities

 

Offensive line: The Packers have excess and are willing to part with either Breno Giacomini or Allen Barbre, two former draft choices. The Seahawks have to decide whether free-agent signings Ben Hamilton and Chester Pitts are healthy enough to be contributors or potential starters. The Cardinals could part ways with guard Reggie Wells or Deuce Lutui after adding guards Alan Faneca and Rex Hadnot. The Jaguars have former third-round choice Vince Manuwai or Uche Nwaneri on the bubble if they want the luxury of keeping Justin Smiley.

 

Running backs: The Redskins must decide between Larry Johnson and Willie Parker for the final running back spot, but Parker is clearly on the bubble. Willis McGahee of the Ravens and Marshawn Lynch of the Bills should make their teams, but the right trade offer could put either on the move. The Bears could give up on tiny running back Garrett Wolfe, a third-round pick in 2007. Laurence Maroney is on the bubble after an inactive preseason but could survive if the Patriots keep five backs. The Seahawks have halfback Julius Jones on the bubble after two unproductive years.

I hope the Bills FO will take a long look at the waiver wire when cuts have been and bring in reinforcements. Last thing I need to see is Kirk Chambers making this team again. I don't think that Corner or Youboty are "on the bubble."

Wang will be kept as well, hopefully they can find another OG who is better than Chambers. Wood will act as the backup center.

Very true although Wang, Cordaro, and Sean Allen actually do look like Practice Squad material.

 

Remember that Chambers got cut to start the season last year? Right now he is the #4 tackle and maybe the #3 gaurd. That scares the daylights out of me.

 

So .... what exactly did we do to improve this line rom last year?

 

Losing Butler (solid RG and decent RT) and adding Cornell Green does not look like net positive so far.

This note was on the player card for Giacomini and Barbre: "The Green Bay Packers may have a trading partner for one of their surplus of offensive linemen but as of the end of business on Friday, General Manager Ted Thompson hadn't pulled off a deal in advance of Saturday's final roster cuts."

if you place those 3 on the practice squad please explain who our backups will be?

 

if you think the bills are going to claim 3 guys and make them our backups without knowing our system and playing one down of football for the bills your out of your mind.

 

what if someone god forbid goes down the first quarter of the first game then what?

 

dont get me wrong i think we will try to improve our o/line depth but if we claim more than one or 2 i would be shocked. IMO 2 is the max.

I sure hope the Bills are active in the market after other teams players are cut. Find some upgrades. What are the possibilities that the Bills look to the waiver wire? Have final cuts ever yielded success for Buffalo? Just wondering.

And last year the coaching staff had Parrish riding the bench for most of the years, our current coach is teying to make him a focal point of the WR's. Just because something happened last year with that coaching staff, doesn't mean its true or means anything
