If Benson is suspended by the league, maybe the Bengals will want to trade for Lynch? He'll fit right in! :flirt:

Hell no. I'm just now starting to get excited about this awesome 3-headed monster (jackson-spiller-lynch) that were about to have in the backfield this year.

Has he been in trouble before? If not, he would not be suspended based on one incident (unless, of course, he goes to jail).

This will not help his contract negotiations.

:flirt:

As I wrote to our poster BlueFire a couple of weeks ago...

..."Benson had a heck of a season last year. He's signed up for '10, but I doubt they would offer him another contract. Since CIN resurrected him, has often chirped about not being appreciated, and it seems he's one of those who is into the Caddy Escalade and dangerous dog mindset - he has 3 rottweilers patrolling his yard, that he brags about, with but 6 foot fencing. Shades of Jerry Porter... I'd be terrified to have such a threat in my neighborhood. If the stars align properly, he will make a wrong move some evening and they will chew him to death."...

Boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest. however, there were a lot of reports about Police abuse during that incident as well.

Also DWI that same year I think. The second brush is what got him his walking papers in Chicago.

I think Benson gets at least 4 games if not more for his latest incident. The guy is a punk. Goodell knows this, and I bet you he comes down HARD on him. Prediction is that the Bengals cut him. He makes Marshawn look like a choir boy.

Wasn't Cedric Benson the example that Marshawn-backers pointed to when arguing that the Bills should keep Lynch?

i have never seen that in all the threads ive been part of, but i wont pretend to have read every single post in every single "Trade Marshawn" thread.

Yes....there were also heated debates about it on this board, and it sure was easy to predict yet another alcohol related brush with the law. That is the way it works; it really isn't so hard to discern. If a player has more than 1 brush with the law, this behavior will continue. Another telling sign is when they portray themselves as victims.

Wrt this, who do posters think will be the next Buffalo Bill to get in trouble off the field? My money is on Lynch or Whitner. It makes total sense. Both have had more than one scrape with the police, and it is a very safe bet that many of their problems were/are alcohol related.

Now before anybody accuses me of being holier than thou, I have no idea how I would have behaved if at the age of 22, someone stuck an 8 million dollar signing bonus in my pocket. I do however suspect that even in that scenario I would avoid fighting cops and bringing attention to myself, but who really knows?

Hmm - I think that was Eric Steinbach. There were no reports of of any abuse by him or by the policemen there, and certainly no resisting. Perhaps you are in error here.
