Maybe his injury is more severe than we know, maybe he has other nagging injuries and doesn't want to have continuing health issues or maybe he does have other options. Whether Butler came back or not, the Bills still needed a real RT. Every offseason he has takened advantage of the league program sending players to intense business seminars at schools such as Harvard and Penn. I'm sure the constant battering on the field and the accumulating knee injuries has helped motivate him to finding a less brutal occupation.
