Maybe Brian Scottenheimer Would Be Legit Here

Recommended Posts

Other than Sanchez (who it looks has come along great under his plan), who has Brian worked with? Maybe have him target a QB in the draft and have him come along a little slower than Sanchez. If he sees a guy who is worthy of a top 10 pick, have him tell Nix that he needs to get him at all costs. Depending on what is done with our O line next year, either let him sit and learn under a FA pick-up or get him in later in the year.

Anyhow, I think his plan in this playoff game has been superb. Obviously he has a top line to work with so he knows the importance of putting one together. If Nix does go after a Coordinator, I would like to see how his interview goes....

To my knowledge, Schottenheimer had nothing to do with building the Jets O-Line. I think the cornerstones

(Faneca, D-Brick Ferguson, Mangold) were there before Schottenheimer was.

I can't completely dismiss him, but as a head coach, he wouldn't have the time to spend with a young QB. Skills

developing a certain position don't necessarily translate to head coach. The head coach is more CEO than

a departmental specialist.

He is not going to come to Buffalo, and with the Jets moving the Bills would not be wise to wait on his availability.

Why? What team is going to hire coaches out from under the Bills? Bills are in a unique position to just sit back and take their time - even if that means waiting until after the Super Bowl to make sure they get the right guy.

I don't get folks. One day nobody wants Schottenheimer. Now the Jets win a playoff game, and B. Schott did call a good game, and everyone likes him? I read so many post yesterday where people thought he was too young, or quoting Jets fans who don't like him as reasons for him not being hired as the coach. LoL. No fan base likes their coaches. Even when they get them to the playoffs! Ha!

I have always thought that if the Bills were not getting an A Lister, then it would be great to get an up an comer...it is obviously tougher to nail the latter.....If they were to do that, than I would rather get a guy with the offensive mindset.

I know this is unpopular but with a patient coach like Schottenheimer the Bills could bring Brohm (don't scream) along slowly. The guy has a terrific and highly accurate arm....all the potential in the world. All he needs, IMHO, is a coach and a team to believe in him. Do it!!! :D

The Jets are a stacked team, with Sanchez in his second year they are sure to be good again. He is in the #1 market in the country and has already said he is happy. He stays another year and next year he will be the hotest available coach on a year where there are many good teams/organizations looking for a coach.

All but 1 Jets starter on the O-Line was drafted in R1 of the draft.

I also loved to play calling today.

A nice stat (I thought) was the Jets run the most play action.

Give us 1 more season of experience on the OL and we have an excellent chance to be very strong all the way from RT to LG. We need a good draft for a top LT and we can be well above average. :D
