It's odd how medals used to actually mean something and now virtually everyone who has served gets them. I had no clue seeing as how I'm not affiliated with the military in any way. Makes the fruit cocktail look a little more impressive to the non-initiated but it's a running joke to anyone who has actually done something in the armed forces.
