As far as this week against the Browns, I could not care less. If they win, weee, it's the Browns with backup QB. If they lose, eh, whatever...I hate games like this especially when the Bills are so far out of the race. Pats and Jets are a million times more fun to watch so you can gauge your team. Miami is another Cleveland in my book....

Nick Fairley - DE/DT Auburn

As much as I wanted them to win against Pitt, I want them to lose against Cleveland. We cannot drop below # 4 in the picks as I would LOVE any of these 4 above.....I can't stand games like Cleveland - who gives a crap if they win or lose (just get good O line play and I'll be happy). Now, if it's the Pats or Jets, different story. -

Now I like him more... -
Because right now, he seems to be a slam dunk for skill AND need....

How are we EVER supposed to compete
BuffaloBaumer replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is where I think you lose everybody....the point the whole time has been that having a player like Brady is the cure.If Luck turns out to be what everyone thinks, THAT is the cure. It has nothing to do with Brady in the 6th, Luck in the 1st and so on and so on... -

and what is it that you don't understand? Now you are just confusing me as I am not sure if this is sarcasm or not..... -

And my point is pretty darn simple. Find the franchise QB whether you stumble upon blind luck (no pun intended) or pick in the first round. I would rather take my chances on drafting Luck than wallow in mediocrity for another 15 years. My original point was Brady vs Fitz....hmmmmmm -

And why does this topic have ANYTHING to do with WHERE you pick the QB. The point is that if there seems to be a can't miss QB prospect like Luck, it could turn your franchise around instantly. -

It's called building around your franchise QB - Oh, I forgot, there is only one round in the draft and no free agency. That's too bad because maybe we could have stocked the trenches in rounds 2-7 and free agency. -

Not too too tough to figure it out.... BRADY FITZ Maybe now people will try and understand why many fans want Luck so badly...... -
I Don't Blame Fitz At All For Yesterday
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think what the problem is that this team has to play nearly a perfect game every week in order to have a chance of beating someone. I am just hoping that our staff DOES see their guy (QB)in this draft because hope is needed (even if the guy sits next year) -
This team can't even pick the right year to stink up the joint. Between the lack of QBs and the number of horrible teams this year in the NFL, the luck of the Buffalo Bills continues without missing a beat....

That is why I am curious though....If they take best DE or LB in the first. Is there any QB worth taking in the 2nd? If starting right tackle is there when they pick in the second as well as Locker - what would people want? -
Fitz is the starter here next year as Carolina has wrapped up Luck. So, which QBs actually fits Gailey's offense? Newton and Locker seem like the two that are most athletic and could take a year to learn the whole system under Fitz. I don't know much about Ponder so if someone has some insight, I would love to know. Mallett seems like he would not fit Gailey at all. Soooo, I would love to hear thoughts on what may happen in draft. Newton will go in the first but there is no way the Bills could pick him at their spot - could they? So Newton is probably not an option. Could locker slip to the second? Is Ponder good enough to take in second or would he be more like a 3rd rounder. Most likely, we go best defender in first but when would the QB be drafted? Do they just forget the whole QB thing all together and not force anything until the time is right?

Oh Noooooo, Bell had a bad day and the rest of this line is decimated. What the hell do you people expect. Yes the defense sucks but I believe this is about the o line. Fitz has had all day to throw before today and THAT is why he has been playing so well. Big surprise huh? My POINT is that it is pretty clear how well the this offense can operate when the line gives Fitz time....
-
Find that starting right tackle next year and keep the line healthy and this offense will be very good.....

They were very due for a game like this....Fitz is horrible - (I kid, I kid)

Chargers to L.A.? Concerns Really Mounting in SD
BuffaloBaumer replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So between this and Rogers buying Maple Leafs, Raptors, etc, this is very good. Who Else in Toronto would buy the Bills? I have a funny feeling that there is going to be good news about the future of the Bills by the end of the year...... -
I think the Bills need to pursue the BEST FA LB and overpay a ton if you have to....Harris from the Jets?

Sabres may be for sale- per ESPN
BuffaloBaumer replied to RocBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has been public knowledge that the Sabres have been for sale for about 2 years now. They have been willing to listen to offers to anyone interested. Basille won't happen but there will be a new owner (that hopefully has a clue about hockey)in about a year or less..... -
Why does Chan never run the ball in OT
BuffaloBaumer replied to mike6683's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone complaining about the pass calls for this team has to get his head examined. Gailey knows this is a passing team and his play calling should be that last thing questioned on this team. How can you not love the way this offense has looked. This offense may not be as potent (and pass happy) as the Patriots but smart coaches recognize how to play to their strengths..... -
Yea, I know they lost but this team has been coming out of halftimes like gangbusters. This is a HUGE step forward. It was the loudest I have been since the Cowboys loss and I just hope Stevie bounces back. That poor kid took it as hard as I think everyone thought he should. Great, great day at the game and if this team was not 2-8 heading into the game, it would have been devastating. They are so close to turning the corner and the players all believe it too which is most important. These coaches are putting the players in positions to win and they will...SOON. No moral victory here, just glad they are not as terrible as I thought they were a month ago.... I have a bad feeling that this loss could really take a toll on them next week as they gave it everything they had and that was one horrendous way to lose. Hopefully, they can learn SOMETHING from this and Stevie has got to be crashing down to earth harder than any player I have seen. Who knows, let's see how it plays out.

My thoughts on the current situation
BuffaloBaumer replied to Billshank Redemption's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taking Spiller last year was a mistake Taking a WR would equal the likes of Matt Millen. If this team does not get Luck or a blue chip defender, I just won't know what to say....
