Lol!! Dick “It’s hard to win in the NFL” Jauron. The only thing I can say about Jauron was that he was consistent!

After 17 years of terrible football, it’s great to finally have competent people running the Bills who have a plan on how to build a successful team. Gone are the days of finishing 6-10/7-9 almost every year. So, yes, I am excited about this season and where the Bills are headed. Go Bills!

Brian Daboll is on the hotseat starting TOMORROW
Jerry Jabber replied to Penfield45's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Running three run plays in a row starting at 1st and Goal from the 10 yard line is inexcusable! If Daboll cannot get the job done this season, then it’s time to fire him. -

Is anyone else less invested in this season than normal?
Jerry Jabber replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still looking forward to the season as it seems the Bills have been built up the right way and look to continue going forward. After 17 years of bad Bills football, I’m not missing the turn around by the team. IMO, I can see the Bills going deep in the playoffs, maybe all the way to the AFC Championship game, but I don’t know if they have enough to overtake the Chiefs. We’ll see how the Bills stack up against the Chiefs in the regular season. -
Another foot injury for Tyler Kroft

Was hoping the Bills would have upgraded the TE position in the offseason, but no luck. They made more upgrades to WR and RB, so I guess TE would be next? -
Bills expected to re-sign RB Antonio Williams

Makes sense. With two weeks to go until the opener, I’m sure the coaches want everyone as healthy as they can be. -

I believe Wade and Moss are hurt, so the Bills need another RB behind Singletary and Yeldon -

There’s always some clown in the media that has the Cowboys as the offseason Superbowl champs. -

Hey Jimmy, how ya been? I’ve seen youze guys got your butts whipped in practice by your backups, 0-157. Until you fire Adam Gase and get a real coach, youze guys ain’t going nowhere! Youze guys might have better luck if you promote Greggggg “The Bounty Hunter” Williams to HC and he starts up another Bountygate. -

Every year, we hear about some players that looked great in OTA’s/minicamp, but disappear in training camp/preseason. We also have some players that look great in the preseason (Trent Edwards, Nathan Peterman come to mind), but look terrible in the regular season. Who could fit that criteria this year? Duke Williams? Gabriel Davis? Isaiah Hodgins? I know this year, it’s going to be a lot harder to determine you just looks good now, versus the regular season. IMO, with no preseason, the Bills are going to have a harder time determining who they should keep, who gets put on the practice squad and who gets released.

Unpopular Bills takes, Past and present.

I think Schoebel would have been a great #2 DE. One thing I’ll say in his defense, he didn’t have good DE’s playing along side him. My favorite play from Schoebel was his one-handed INT against Brady which he returned for a TD. -

I thought Whitner was good in run support, not so much on pass defense. You nailed it! It was a constant recycling of the same positions. -

Drafting RB's and DB's in the first round almost every year during that period was another reason why the Bills were terrible. McGahee (a first round pick) was traded for two #rd round picks and a 7th rounder, Lynch was traded for a 4th rounder. I forget about Whitner (don't remember if his contract expired or was traded), when we could of had Ngata instead. A lot of dumb decisions back then. IMO, the Bills should of tanked for a couple of years after Bledsoe was released and built the team up the right way, instead of the path they went, which they ended up going 6-10/7-9 almost every year. -

Thanks, I'll have to check it out sometime. My favorite trick play Mularkey called, was when he had Bledsoe start off the play on a QB sneak, then Bledsoe stopped, turned around and threw the ball back to the RB (I believe it was McGahee) who ran it in for a 33 yard TD. It's the only time I've ever seen that play used by the Bills. Evans would have been a good #2 WR behind someone like Eric Moulds. Too bad they only had a season together. -

Mike Mularkey came up with some good trick plays. Doug Whaley was good in Free Agency. Doug Marrone was good at hiring Defensive Coordinators.
