  1. Instead of arguing back & forth about the QB situation, receivers not getting the ball, receivers not getting open...etc, let's just wait until the regular season and take this subject up then. We all know how horrible the offense was under jauron, so let's see what the offense does under Gailey, who is a better offensive coach.
  2. Just like the WR can't throw the ball to himself, the QB can't make the WR get open.
  3. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/06/25/w...nd-bell-update/ "It looks like getting back on the practice field for Ed Wang and Demetrius Bell will have to wait until training camp." Chris Brown, BB.com If Bell is still not ready to go in 5 weeks, is Jamon Meredith going to be the starting LT going into the season? I hope the Bills have a backup plan in case Bell or Wang are not ready. Maybe Nix should start some dialog with Flozell Adams just in case.
  4. Lee can't constantly beat double coverage like a #1 WR should be able to. You mentioned Steve Smith, IMO Smith is one of the best, short WR's in the game. But look at Smith compared to Evans, Smith's arm's are about twice the size of Evans. Evans is not physical enough to consistently outleap and outmuscle DB's and also consistently shed double coverage. IMO, Evans is a class act, a great #2 WR and I'm glad he's on the team. Now, if this year, Evans has 80 catches and has over 1,000 yards receiving under Chan Gailey, then I will eat crow at the end of the season. Fair enough?! If he doesn't, then how long will you make up excuses for him?
  5. Really, so that's all a #1 WR has to do is get open and go deep and every play? Wow, thank you for that enlightenment
  6. I still wished the Bills would have went after Marty Schottenheimer. Marty's teams have always had great records in the regular seasons and made many trips to the playoffs. What separated Marty & Cowher was that Cowher had over 15 years on 1 team. If Cowher had 10 years or less on the Steelers, he would have been in the same category as Marty and Marv Levy, a great coach that never won a superbowl.
  7. Awesome post and I agree 100%
  8. I'd rather take Gailey's boring and unprepared at times, just as long as it gets us to the playoffs, compared to the very boring, very unprepared, "it's hard to win in the NFL" style of Dick Jauron.
  9. I agree about Johnson & Hardy. I think they will give Hardy a shot at training camp, but I can see Johnson winning the #2 WR position. With the way Easley has been playing, he could make a strong case for #2 or #3. Glad to see the young guys stepping up and playing hard.
  10. Not sure how Evans can break double coverage and get open?
  11. I agree. Gailey did wonders with Fielder, Thigpen, Tomczak & Thigpen, so hopefully he can do the same with one of the three QB's on the Bills roster. I think the Bills can get 8 or 9 wins this year. I'd love to see playoffs, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.
  12. A scary thing about Maybin is that Reggie Torbor, a guy we just picked up a few weeks ago is already getting more reps with the starting unit that Maybin. I know the Bills plan on using Maybin in obvious pass rushing situations, but I hope he's not a bust considering he was the Bills top draft pick from a year ago.
  13. Jauron should have been fired right after saying that statement.
  14. Yesterday it looked like Edwards was the better of the QB's. But that's been Edwards niche, he's been up and down. I still think the QB competition comes down to Brohm & Edwards.
  15. At first during the OTA's, the defense was making much more plays than the offense. The last few OTA's, the offense has been making more plays than the defense. Is this a sign of good things to come for the offense?
  16. I'm glad that Nix & Gailey have brought in a ton of guys to compete for jobs. It's nice to see guys competing hard and trying to earn a spot on the roster, espcially at the WR position.
  17. That would be great to see. I'm glad the Bills have finally gotten taller targets over the last couple of years.
  18. I agree about Roosevelt, he's been looking good so far in OTA's.
  19. I agree, I think if Easley does develop quick enough, he could rise up the depth chart over Hardy. There are so many unknowns with Hardy, Johnson, Easley & Parrish that it's hard to predict how they will do this season. With finally having an offensive minded coach, we'll be able to see how these guys can truly perform this year. Between Jackson, Huggins & Roosevelt, that's going to be a hard choice on who stays and who gets cut.
  20. It could be Fred Jackson on the wildcat last year. Jackson faked the run, then threw a TD pass to Evans.
  21. Thanks! I'm glad the Bills WR's are no longer all short WR's like they were a couple of years ago. I agree, I'm also interested in seeing how Gailey will use Parrish this season.
