Nix has already started on beefing up the D-line, which needed beefing up considering the run D ranked 30th last season giving up 156.2 YPG last season. Our pass D ranked at #2, so with a better run D to go along with a great pass D, our defense will be much improved. Plus, he drafted a big playmaker in C.J. Spiller, who could be great just like the Titans Chris Johnson. IMO, the new coaching regime are gonna see if they can work with the current O-line & QB's this season and will weed out the players they feel can't cut it in the offseason. The Bills are not going to the Superbowl this year, but the Bills will surprise a lot of people this year. The process is going to take 2-3 years, but if you're not willing to wait, then come back when the Bills when the Bills are winning.

There are a lot of things that should have never happened throughout Bills history. Bill Polian should have never been fired. Rob Johnson should not have started in the playoff game vs the Titans. Donahoe shouldn't have drafted Mike Williams, Willis McGahee & J.P. Losman. Donahoe shouldn't have traded away multiple #1 draft picks. Levy should have never hired Jauron. Levy should have drafted Ngata & Revis. What I like about Nix & Gailey is that they plan on building through the draft. Nix stated that he plans to get bigger physical linemen, which is what needed here in Buffalo. I like what Nix did in the draft, but I know it will take 1-2 more drafts for the Bills to be a solid contender again.

Hopefully this slows down Marshall this year.

And how many picks did Sanchez throw in the bad NJ weather last year when the Jets played the Bills? Pennington has no arm strength from all the injuries and surgeries. If Pennington throws the ball more than 15 yards down field, it will be easily intercepted. Chad Henne looked real good when the Bills beat the Phins 31-14 last year, didn't he?

No one can deny that the Bills sucked big time over the last ten years. Ralph Wilson needs to take a lot of blame for that. No one wanted Dick Jauron as HC, but that's who we were stuck with for 3 1/2 years. Ralph became shell-shocked after Donahoe and hired Marv to help stabilize the front office, well too bad Marv didn't know how to stabilize the team. But if you don't like this team, or are just a bandwagon fan, then leave and come back when the Bills are doing better. Otherwise, go call the Whaambulance: WHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Another Doom & Gloomer, keep up the good work (sarcasm). The Bills organization has made tons of mistakes of the last 10 years and most importantly throughout it's history. Getting rid of Polian over Littman. Starting Johnson over Flutie in the playoffs. Drafting Mike Williams, not resigning Pat Williams, not drafting Ngata, Orakpo, Revis etc... etc... I love the Bills and have for 30 years now. I'm not a kool-aid drinker and I don't think magically we're gonna be turned into a winner, but I like what Nix has done so far. Nix started building up the D-line by getting bigger guys. Nix took part in drafting Brees and E.Manning/Rivers, so I'd say he knows what to look for in a good QB. The rebuilding process will take 2-3 years, but Nix is doing it right by building the lines first. So go and enjoy Albert Haynesworth's overpaid ass again in DC. If you don't want to be a fan of the Bills, then why don't you and the rest of the negative nancy's on here STFU and get lost!!

Dolphins got Brandon Marshall, that's a good upgrade. But does anyone think Pennington or Henne are great QB's? Jets, they added a over-the-hill RB and a WR that will be suspended for how many games. Plus, they have a California QB that can't play in bad weather.

The doom & gloom continues... The season hasn't even started and a bunch of so-called fans (like tonyjustbcuzimadouchebag) are already sticking the fork in this team and acting like Kay Stephenson & Hank Bullough have rode back into town to lead the Bills back to it's 2-14 ways. The Dick (Jauron), the bend-don't-break Tampa 2 defense, the deferring kicks, the pop-warner offense, and "it's hard to win in the NFL" are all out of here. People forget that the Bills beat the Dolphins 31-14 and beat the terrifying Jets last year as well. If it wasn't for McKelvin, the Bills would have beaten the Pats well. Last year, one third of our defense was productive, which was our pass defense (ranked #2). The Bills couldn't stop anyone on the run (ranked #30). With going to a hybrid 3-4 and getting bigger players, our run defense will be much improved. As for the pass rush, that still remains a question that we'll find out about during the course of the season. Offense, yes our offense sucked last year, but look at how bad it was managed. First, it started off with trading Jason Peters and switching Langston Walker from RT to LT. Jauron tells Schonert to take out a lot of plays and dull down the offense (pop-warner type offense). Then comes the no-huddle offense which didn't work for crap. So, instead of scrapping the no-huddle offense when it wasn't working in the pre-season, Jauron decides to fire Schonert and and throw AVP to the fire as an Offensive Coordinator (who 2 years earlier was an Quality Control coach). Instead of putting Walker back at RT where he played good at, Walker gets canned for developmental player Demeterius Bell. Our offense was doomed from the start. Our offense finsihed at #30. With having an offensive minded coach (Gailey), a playmaker (an safety valve for dump-offs) Spiller, our offense will be better. I'm not saying Top 20, but our offense will get better. Yes, there are question marks all over the offense, WR's (Hardy, Johnson, Easily), QB's (Edwards, Brohm, Fitz), O-line - can they get any better? Those questions will be answered during the season, no one can justify the offenses play after the mess the Bills went through last season, the Bills have nowhere to go but up. On top of all that, Jauron never had the Bills properly prepared as evident by the 20 players on IR (which included 10+ players every year on IR during Jauron's tenure as Bills HC).

Even though he didn't have a good career here in Buffalo, he was a class act and I wish him the best of luck.

I agree that the Bills will surprise a bunch of people. IMO, the defense will be the strength of the team. Getting bigger up front will help make our run defense (which ranked 30th) get better, to go along with our #2 pass defense. I can see the offense getting better (ranked 30th) but I'm not expecting miracles. I'm still worried about the LT position and also about how effective Eric Wood will be coming back after his horrific injury. With better strength & conditioning coaches, the injuries should be significantly less and that should help players build chemistry together. I can see the Bills improving anywhere from 8-8 to 9-7.

I think Scotty was still reeling from missing the 47 yarder in the Superbowl. I met Scott twice at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in Herndon, VA, the first time he was quiet and kind of guarded, guess he was trying to get a feel for how the Bills fans would react to him. The 2nd time, he was more open and having a good time with everyone. Overall, Scott is a good guy.

I was 17 and a senior in H.S. I only wish that I had enough money for season tickets back then and could have went to some playoff games at Rich Stadium. You're right, the Bills were really stacked with talent back then.

I just finished watching the 1991 Buffalo Bills that I DVR'd from the NFL network. I can't believe it's been nearly twenty years since we've had such a great team. Seeing Thurman Thomas' elusiveness & quickness, Jim Kelly throwing for long TD's, Andre Reed & James Lofton running for TD's, Bruce Smith getting sacks, Darryl Talley & Cornelius Bennett making plays, AFC Championship games in Buffalo...I miss those Bills teams of the 90's.

The Jets and Dolphins are expected to be better, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they will. Sanchez is a warm weather QB, that struggled in the NJ weather when the Jets lost to the Bills in the Meadowlands. The Bills also beat the Phins 31-14 in their last meeting. Considering the big, dysfunctional mess the Bills were in last year, I'd say we have a better chance this year to compete in the AFC East. Gone is the Tampa 2 defense with no pass rush and no rush defense. With bigger linemen up front, our run D will be much improved. The pass rush is unknown right now, but with bigger linemen up front, it should give our OLB's a good shot at the QB. The dulled-down, pop-warner type offense is gone as well. I liked Van Pelt, but he was in over his head last season. IMO, Gailey is an upgrade over Van Pelt (mainly due to experience).

The Bills finished 6-10 with the Offensive Coordinator and Left Tackle being fired 10 days before the start of the season, a new offensive coordinator 10 days before the start of the season, the Head coach being fired midway through the season and 20 players on IR. With bigger players on defense and a playmaker in C.J. Spiller, how are the Bills going to be very bad this year? I can see the Bills improve to 8-8 or 9-7 in 2010. The Bills are not that far off from being a playoff contender.
