Staybridge Suites in west Seneca across from the old Seneca Mall is nice. Country Inn & Suites (next door to Staybridge) is fairly new. Also, try around the airport as they have built up a lot of hotels across the street.

Lol, I been there a couple of times when I was stationed at Cherry Point, NC. Jacksonville, NC (Camp Lejeune) is similar to Fayetteville. -

Basically all the males in my family have served dating back to the civil war. My Great, Great, Great Grandfather and his two brothers served in the N.Y. Volunteer Infantry. -

Our D.I.'s said we should salute purple heart recipients out of respect, which I always did. Which branch of service were you in? I was in the Marines for 8 1/2 years until I tore my foot & ankle up. -

Sarge?! There are no "Sarge's" in the Marines. The Marine in his dress blue uniform is a Gunnery Sergeant or "Gunny." Sarge's are in the army. If you're an enlisted member of the military, you only salute Officers, Warrant Officers, or out of respect to recipients of the Purple Heart (meaning you got shot or wounded in combat) which is why the Marine Gunnery Sergeant was yelling "NO!!!" I appreciate the respect Goodwin was trying to show, but he was out of place. -
Thanks again Astro!

Make Your Bold PreSeason Prediction Here.
Jerry Jabber replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Marrone/Hackett calls as many run plays as they did in Syracuse, then my prediction for Spiller is 1,800+ yards rushing this year. -
Thank you again Astro for the reports!!

Thanks for the update! I cringed hearing Jauron say years ago "I wish I had more time" when talking about if the Bills were ready for the regular season. I definitely think that won't be the case with Marrone. How did Da'Rick Rogers look today? Marrone said he is competing for a roster spot, but do you think he has a legitimate shot at one of the WR spots (2-5)? Thanks! Thanks for the report Astro!

Should we be concerned about Dareus?

With this being the 3rd defensive coordinator in 3 years for Dareus, hopefully we'll start to see some consistency & improvement. -
Should we be concerned about Dareus?
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm hoping Marrone is just using some tactics to motivate Dareus. I don't think Dareus is lazy, I think he's still having a difficult time dealing with the loss of his brother. With Mariocre, if he's playing a Bruce Smith (meaning, using tactics to avoid training camp), but actually performs in the regular season, then I could care less. But if that's not the case, and like others have said about him, "It's always something with this guy" then I feel the Bills should cut him. According to the thread about Mario's contract, the deal is essentially a two year deal. -
Should we be concerned about Dareus?
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope that is the case. I like Dareus and feel his has a ton of potential. If he is struggling, I'm sure he's dealing with ton of depression after his brother was murdered last year, that's just something you can't quickly rebound from. -
It appears we have Mario and Dareus to be concerned with now. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/7/29/4569872/marcell-dareus-healthy-as-a-rock-buffalo-bills-training-camp "We wrote a fairly lengthy article about Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Jay Ross today, necessitated by the fact that he continues to see first-team reps on defense following a healthy dose of the same during the spring months. Part of the reason Ross has had that opportunity? An ongoing situation surrounding third-year defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. WGR 550's Joe Buscaglia pointed out on Sunday evening that Dareus was barely involved in one-on-one blocking drills between the offensive and defensive lines, and was only taking one in three first-team reps during the team portions of practice. The cause of his appearing limited? We're still not sure, but it's apparently not his health. "I'm healthy as a rock," Dareus told ESPN.com's Mike Rodak on Monday. "Believe me, with our strength coaches, you're not going to be out here if you're not in shape." If it's not his health, then what's holding Dareus back? The most likely answer seems to be the coaching staff, but that still doesn't account for an actual reason. Is it the fact that he missed (at least) a week of practices during the spring for personal reasons? Has Ross simply been that impressive? Or should we legitimately be worried about Dareus' pro prospects as he enters his third season as a pro, as well as his prospects as a starting Bills defensive lineman in 2013?"

Mariocre is not at camp today. Does he still have a honey boo-boo on footsie? Is he pulling a Bruce Smith by not wanting to be at training camp? -

Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp
Jerry Jabber replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't be surprised. Since Byrd is not under contract, he can't be fined for missing training camp and preseason games. I expect Byrd to show up and sign his franchise tender the day before the season starts, similar to how Jason Peters held out until the day before the season opener years ago. -

I like Warren Sapp's message to Jairus Byrd: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/07/warren-sapp-to-jairus-byrd-go-back-to-work-and-earn-it.html "What you want isn't what we're talking about here in the NFL life. It's about what the team deems you worthy of being paid. Sign your tender, go back to work and earn it like your rookie year when you came into the league and you went to the Pro Bowl. That's what you do. Whenever somebody questions your play on the football field, you go out on the football field and you show it." "I question him because you've been there the whole time with Buffalo, and if Buffalo doesn't see you as an asset as far as their franchise player and the guy they want to put as their safety, [that says something]. If the team that watches you practice and play every day doesn't deem you the best safety in the game, then you might want to look at yourself." -

How long does Pettine stay with us?
Jerry Jabber replied to White Linen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The question I have is how much input and influence did Pettine really have with being the Jets Defensive coordinator? With our previous Offensive Coordinator, Curtis Modkins, we knew that Chan Gailey ran the offense and Modkins was merely an assistant to him. Was Pettine used in the same capacity or some variation with Rex Ryan and the Jets? Only time will tell if Pettine is the real deal. Will Pettine come up with a good game plan every week? Will he put the right players in the right places? How well will Pettine make adjustments throughout the game? Once a team figures out the Bills weaknesses on defense, will Pettine be able to counter effectively? The Bills have been terrible at defending misdirection runs and passes over the past several years, can Pettine correct that? Also, the Bills got burnt badly by Russell Wilson against the option play last year, can Pettine correct that as well. If Pettine corrects these issues with the Bills over the next few years, then I would say he has a very legitimate shot at being a Head Coach. If not, then there’s no way he’ll be a Head Coach in the league.
