  1. Thank you again Astro for the reports!!
  2. Thanks for the update! I cringed hearing Jauron say years ago "I wish I had more time" when talking about if the Bills were ready for the regular season. I definitely think that won't be the case with Marrone. How did Da'Rick Rogers look today? Marrone said he is competing for a roster spot, but do you think he has a legitimate shot at one of the WR spots (2-5)? Thanks! Thanks for the report Astro!
  3. With this being the 3rd defensive coordinator in 3 years for Dareus, hopefully we'll start to see some consistency & improvement.
  4. I'm hoping Marrone is just using some tactics to motivate Dareus. I don't think Dareus is lazy, I think he's still having a difficult time dealing with the loss of his brother. With Mariocre, if he's playing a Bruce Smith (meaning, using tactics to avoid training camp), but actually performs in the regular season, then I could care less. But if that's not the case, and like others have said about him, "It's always something with this guy" then I feel the Bills should cut him. According to the thread about Mario's contract, the deal is essentially a two year deal.
  5. I hope that is the case. I like Dareus and feel his has a ton of potential. If he is struggling, I'm sure he's dealing with ton of depression after his brother was murdered last year, that's just something you can't quickly rebound from.
  6. It appears we have Mario and Dareus to be concerned with now. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/7/29/4569872/marcell-dareus-healthy-as-a-rock-buffalo-bills-training-camp "We wrote a fairly lengthy article about Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Jay Ross today, necessitated by the fact that he continues to see first-team reps on defense following a healthy dose of the same during the spring months. Part of the reason Ross has had that opportunity? An ongoing situation surrounding third-year defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. WGR 550's Joe Buscaglia pointed out on Sunday evening that Dareus was barely involved in one-on-one blocking drills between the offensive and defensive lines, and was only taking one in three first-team reps during the team portions of practice. The cause of his appearing limited? We're still not sure, but it's apparently not his health. "I'm healthy as a rock," Dareus told ESPN.com's Mike Rodak on Monday. "Believe me, with our strength coaches, you're not going to be out here if you're not in shape." If it's not his health, then what's holding Dareus back? The most likely answer seems to be the coaching staff, but that still doesn't account for an actual reason. Is it the fact that he missed (at least) a week of practices during the spring for personal reasons? Has Ross simply been that impressive? Or should we legitimately be worried about Dareus' pro prospects as he enters his third season as a pro, as well as his prospects as a starting Bills defensive lineman in 2013?"
  7. Mariocre is not at camp again this morning. Chris Brown ‏@ChrisBrownBills 1h Mario not in attendance at #Bills practice Tuesday morning. #BillsCamp
  8. (Go to 0:49) I fell down the stairs, and my shoes fell off!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq7n1BVouaM
  9. Mariocre is not at camp today. Does he still have a honey boo-boo on footsie? Is he pulling a Bruce Smith by not wanting to be at training camp?
  10. I think we'll see Byrd do that as well.
  11. Wouldn't be surprised. Since Byrd is not under contract, he can't be fined for missing training camp and preseason games. I expect Byrd to show up and sign his franchise tender the day before the season starts, similar to how Jason Peters held out until the day before the season opener years ago.
  12. I like Warren Sapp's message to Jairus Byrd: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/07/warren-sapp-to-jairus-byrd-go-back-to-work-and-earn-it.html "What you want isn't what we're talking about here in the NFL life. It's about what the team deems you worthy of being paid. Sign your tender, go back to work and earn it like your rookie year when you came into the league and you went to the Pro Bowl. That's what you do. Whenever somebody questions your play on the football field, you go out on the football field and you show it." "I question him because you've been there the whole time with Buffalo, and if Buffalo doesn't see you as an asset as far as their franchise player and the guy they want to put as their safety, [that says something]. If the team that watches you practice and play every day doesn't deem you the best safety in the game, then you might want to look at yourself."
  13. Lets pat each other on the back now...good job...kudos...Cheerio!!
  14. The question I have is how much input and influence did Pettine really have with being the Jets Defensive coordinator? With our previous Offensive Coordinator, Curtis Modkins, we knew that Chan Gailey ran the offense and Modkins was merely an assistant to him. Was Pettine used in the same capacity or some variation with Rex Ryan and the Jets? Only time will tell if Pettine is the real deal. Will Pettine come up with a good game plan every week? Will he put the right players in the right places? How well will Pettine make adjustments throughout the game? Once a team figures out the Bills weaknesses on defense, will Pettine be able to counter effectively? The Bills have been terrible at defending misdirection runs and passes over the past several years, can Pettine correct that? Also, the Bills got burnt badly by Russell Wilson against the option play last year, can Pettine correct that as well. If Pettine corrects these issues with the Bills over the next few years, then I would say he has a very legitimate shot at being a Head Coach. If not, then there’s no way he’ll be a Head Coach in the league.
  15. It's one thing if this was the 2nd year under Marrone, Hackett & Pettine where we've seen the Bills play, their schemes and how they use players, but this is year one under a new coaching regime with new coaching schemes. Trying to predict how the Bills will do at this point before even seeing them put on the pads and play a preseason game is equivalent to predicting how well you're going to like a new job just after completing the first interview, but appearently Ms. Cleo, you have the ability to do that. So continue being a troll with avoiding questions and making blind predictions.
  16. No Ms. Cleo, you're the psychic here. Your psychic powers are predicting Mike Pettine will turn the Bills defense around in one season and he will be a Head Coach in 2014, even without seeing the Bills play a single down. What's the winning lottery numbers going to be this week?
  17. I already stated my predictions and said that you could get a good gauge at how the Bills could do this season after the 3rd preseason game (when the Bills starters get extensive action). I also laid out the scenarios of how Spiller could do based on how Hackett could run the offense. There's no point in having you re-read my post because it's painfully obvious you don't have reading comprehension, so let me help you out. Dial 1-800--ABCDEFG and ask for a program called "Hooked on Phonics," It will give you a start in the right direction. Since you're into bold & blind predictions, how many tackles will Kiko Alonzo have in his NFL career?
  18. (From Matt in KC): Fun! I'll take a shot. Do you even know how Hackett is going to utilize Spiller? No, but I suspet he'll be the primary RB. That's a given. Do you see Hackett using Spiller like Gailey did, go 50/50 pass/run, or like the Vikings used Adrian Peterson (heavy run, minimal passes)? Who is going to be the starting QB? Kolb until 3-6 games into the season, then Manuel. I agree with that as I imagine Kolb will get injured (he's been injury prone during his career) and Manuel will take over. How many WR's are the Bills going to keep? 6 I agree. I'm going with SJ, Woods, Graham, Goodwin, Brad Smith and Rogers. What's the Bills win/loss record going to be each year for the next 5 years? 6-10, 9-7, 11-5, 10-6, 9-7 6-10, 7-9, 7-9...new coaches again...6-10, 7-9 (just going with the averages, hope I'm wrong) Who will win Superbowl 50? The Saints I'm going with the Ravens When will the earth come to an end? 3429 (from an asteroid) - I assume you mean when will humans be wiped from the Earth. There will still be giant mass circling the sun after the asteroid collision. I'm going with 3797. http://science.disco...predictions.htm So if the discussion is pointless to you, why not just skip the thread? Didn't say the whole thread was pointless, just trying to predict what could possibly happen 2-4 years from now before the Bills even take a snap in preseason with a completely new coaching regime is pointless, same with trying to predict who the Bills first round pick will be in 2014.
  19. I get it, you like to make bold and blind predictions. This is just as ridiculous as the thread guessing at who the Bills will draft in the first of of next year. So, you're just throwing out a blind prediction on Spiller without evening knowing how Hackett will use him. Here are my guesses on Hackett and Spiller: If Hackett uses Spiller like Gailey did (excuse me, underutilized him), then I can see him get anywhere between 1100-1300 yards rushing. If Hackett spilts the plays close to 50/50 pass/run, then I can see Spiller having more than 1400 yards rushing. If Hackett utilizes Spiller the way Minnesota did with AP (heavy run with limited passes), then I can see Spiller being in the Top 3 in rushing this year. The Bills have an entirely new coaching staff and systems in place, so at this point, it's useless trying to predict or guess at how well/poor the Bills will do. After the 3rd preseason game is when you can get a decent gauge at how the Bills look (when we see the starters in for extensive action). Since you're into bold & blind predictions, answer these questions then: Do you even know how Hackett is going to utilize Spiller? Who is going to be the starting QB? How many WR's are the Bills going to keep? What's the Bills win/loss record going to be each year for the next 5 years? Who will win Superbowl 50? When will the earth come to an end?
  20. That's your opinion. This conversation was talked about last year with Dave Wannstedt and looked how things turned out. After 13 years of missing the playoffs, I'm not predicting or assuming anything with this team. Some people (like yourself) are assuming Pettine will lead the Bills defense out of the abyss they have been in for years. We need to see Pettine prove it in Buffalo. Will Pettine come up with a good game plan every week? Will he put the right players in the right places? How well will Pettine make adjustments throughout the game. Once a team figures out the Bills weaknesses on defense, will Pettine be able to counter effectively? Those are the questions that should be answered first before we say he'll bolt for a HC position.
  21. I think the tooting of Pettine's horn is very premature. The defense hasn't even play a down under Pettine, so let's wait and see how the Defense performs over the course of the season before recommending he should be a HC in the league (Dave Wannstedt ring a bell?)
