  1. For those that are offering up all the excuses for Gilmore, answer this, how confident are you in Gilmore going up against Brandon Marshall in week 1 based solely on his performance so far in the preseason (and not how he performed in years past)?
  2. I would hope that he doesn't. Now that it appears our run "D" has vastly improved, teams will be throwing a lot more on the Bills. If Gilmore and McKelvin have lingering effects from their offseason surgeries, then other teams will exploit that.
  3. Gilmore was in position and could have gotten a hand on the ball to deflect it, but he didn't and the WR made a good play. That's still on Gilmore. I'm hoping Schwartz is playing a vanilla scheme in preseason, because there wasn't a lot of pressure on Rapistburger last night.
  4. I do like the direction the team is going in. I believe Brandon and Whaley want the Bills to be a forward thinking/moving organization. I wonder who will be gone once the owner comes in. I know there was an article earlier this year in regards to the "New Regime" vs the "Old Regime" in the Bills organization, as Whaley & Co want to do new things and wanted a new trainer, but the old regime was shutting them down and wants to keep doing things the way they've always done them.
  5. So far, I've heard nothing but excuses on the two TD's that Gilmore has given up. So, if Gilmore gives up 16 TD's in the regular season (1 per game), are people going to be saying "wow, did you see that insane catch the WR made?!"
  6. So far, the run defense has vastly improved, so teams are throwing it a lot more on the Bills. IMO, Gilmore does not look like his old self from last year as this could be from his offseason surgery. What was a little concerning was seeing Rapistburger throw for two TD's against our defense last night. The D-line was unable to generate a sack and Rapistburger was able to carve up our secondary. I'm hoping Schwartz was just playing a vanilla scheme last night and will be more creative during the regular season. Yes, I know, it's "only preseason," but seeing these things does not exactly inspire confidence either.
  7. I agree 100%
  8. I wanted Lovie Smith as Head Coach, but Brandon & Co went in a different direction. They wanted to try something new, instead of hiring a proven Head Coach like Smith. I said it when Smith got hired by Tampa Bay that he will lead the Bucs to the playoffs before the Bills do, and I'm sticking with that.
  9. Should be interesting to hear the excuses this week, not just on Gilmore but the rest if the team.
  10. In back to back preseason games, Gilmore has burnt for TDs. Should we be concerned that this trend will continue into the season?
  11. It's pathetic that the starting offense has yet to score a TD through 3 preseason games.
  12. Gilmore has given up TD's in consecutive weeks
  13. So much for Manuel's great practice on Thursday
  14. Considering Goodell has handed out suspensions for arrests that happened last year [bradham, Jamaal Charles], I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell suspends Dareus at the start of next season.
  15. http://t.co/6EaQPSoEAS "Two sources familiar with the sales process told The News the Kellys have made lofty partnership demands: 2 percent equity in the team, lifetime jobs for Jim and Dan, an up-front cash payment for their services and final say on all football decisions." I've always liked Jim Kelly and I know what he means to us Bills fans, but I think Jim is being delusional with his requests.
  16. Chicago's pass defense was discussed this morning on NFL AM. The announcers feel even though it is preseason, there should be concerns about Chicago's pass defense as it was bad last season, and through two preseason games so far this year looks to be in worse shape. If Chicago's pass defense is as bad as it has been showing, then Manuel and the Bills offense could have a huge game in the season opener.
  17. I agree 100% This is exactly what a team like the Bills (who have had a losing culture for years) need to turn the corner. The extra preseason game and scrimmages will help them be better prepared for the season.
  18. Sounds like the Bills got their butts handed to them today against the Steelers. IMO, that can be a good thing as the players can see it as a wake up call to step up their game.
  19. The same can be said for the Cowboys every single year and look at how they finish? I see Trestman as a downgrade from Lovie Smith. If Lovie Smith was still coaching the Bears, then I would be worried about the game.
  20. Even Eric Davis from NFL network chalked up the Jets sweeping the Bills this coming year. The only way public opinion about the Bills is going to change is the Bills making the playoffs.
  21. I'm looking forward to seeing Cutler get sacked, hit, and running for his life in the season opener.
  22. Both Gregg Williams and Mike Mularkey held scrimmages against other teams when they were the Bills HC. The highest wins in a season they had were 8 (Williams) and 9 (Mularkey). Since Jauron stopped scrimmages against other teams, the highest wins that he and Gailey had in a season were 7 (Jauron) and 6 (Gailey). IMO, having scrimmages against other teams will only make the Bills better. Marrone is trying to get rid of the losing culture in Buffalo, so if this is part of what it takes to change that culture, then the players will have to deal with it.
